The ?9.75 one, you also have to get a scart to scart cable to connect it to the TV.

Any decent electronics store should have some sort of scart extension cable. Just get the thickest one you can find.

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself there, more than trying to convince us...

No, it sounds like he, like many others don't notice any drop in picture quality.

i think people are getting mixed up between a splitter and a switcher. a splitter means having 1 input producing 2 (or more) equal outputs so that 1 signal can be sent to more than one display. this will obviously result in signal degradation as there's no good way of splitting a signal in half and getting a decent result from both outputs (i think this is what naiera is thinking of).

a switcher on the other hand simply allows switching between different inputs to 1 single output. as long as the components inside the box are of reasonable quality and properly screened, then there won't be any signal loss (at least none that is noticeable by most people).

No, the first mentioned is not what I am thinking of.

There's no point arguing over this.

The truth of the matter is that any device that forwards a signal into another component will degrade the signal - be it a scart splitter costing ?9.95 or speaker cable costing ?650 a metre.

Some devices however do the job very well and to the point where it is very difficult to notice the drop in quality.

Anyway, I'm gonna get one of those Argos splitters and a good RGB-RGB cable and see what's it like.

Diving in here late a bit, I have an IXOS between the Argos switches and a QED to the TV itself.

If there is a loss of quality, which there probably is, it is indiscernible to me.

I have a Chord Company RGB cable for my digibox but definately can't afford another for the scart splitter, which would you recommend between the QED and IXOS? oh and which models do you have?
