    3DMark

Just wondering if anyone has actually bought this - I realise you can run it for free, but I was intrigued to know if anyone has actually bought this - how do FutureMark actually survive - I wouldn't have thought enough people would buy it to make it worthwhile.

Also what scores are people getting for what specs?

//(I'll post my score shortly - a few teething problems to sort first)

    3DMark 2003: 2826
    P4 2.6GHz, 512MB RAM (133), 64MB Radeon 9600 Mobility.

Not too shabby for a laptop - still hoping to up that by 10,000 with my new PC. Will be disappointed if I can't be 12K.

What the hell kind of PC are you going to get? I'm no expert but 12K?

I just ran the test (admitedly on the older version of 03 and on a machine i've just got and not done anything with yet (literally has about 2 hours) so maybe I can improve some things but I only scored a 3d mark of 6776.

That's me running on my new Dual Xeon 3.2Ghz processors with 4 GB of ram. Admitedly not the latest graphics card (FX 5900 though overclocked)

12K must be something to behold!

      the 6800 ultras and x800 xt's piss 12k on 3d mark 2003

a 5900 is a thing of the past

ur dual processors are pointless using a 5900

12k is a very high score, prior to the 6800's and x800's a score of 6k represented
        a high end PC.

            I stand corrected 8)

I don't play games on the PC so not too bothered about the actual graphics card.

My new spec will be AMD 64 3500+,1GB Corsair XMS 3200 RAM, 256MB 6800 GT. Both the CPU and GPU have v. good HSFs on them (Zalman pure copper circle thingy, and Arctic Rev 4) so there should be some good overclocking potential. I hope to get the GT up to Ultra speeds (maybe flash the bios too). I think it should stand a chance of 12K.

Just got my laptop upto 3016 - I overclocked the core from 350 to 400 and the memory from 220 to 225. I was quite surprised how well it handled this. The only time I had a problem was when the core was over 420 and even that was just a few artifacts. Memory could go higher I think but the tests were showing the odd artifact any higher. Don't want to know how hot it is in there now but its coping pretty well under load. I think Doom 3 might stress it too far though - if it will even run.

                Woohoo - 3DMark 2003 - 12040

                http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2908187

At stock was about 11300 but FSB from 200 to 210 and graphics from 370/1000 to 400/1050 and I got a considerable improvement.

Temps didn't even rise much (1-2 degrees) from normal.

                    I just ran it:

                    Athlon64 3000+
                    512 MB DDR400 Ram
                    Epox 8KDA3J
                    128MB Radeon 9800 Pro

I scored 5903. Is this low?

No - the 6800s/X800s are giving scores roughly twice as high as anything in the previous gen. so I think that is probably OK.

Nah not with your graphic's card mate.

3Dmark 2k3 is very GPU intensvie that's why you see such high score's on the 6800's.

Sound about right to you peeps or is that an under performance?

I would have expected a bit more tbh Concept, I am sure I have seen some other benches with a similar spec to yours scoring a bit more.

Perhaps so, but I'm using a 12-pipe card so I don't expect to be hitting 12k-15k a la GT, Ultra, XT.

10k seems around what I would expect for an X800Pro, although I would have liked a little extra admittedly.

Edit: Did some searching on my card... Thankfully, this (potential) overheating issue doesn't seem to have affected anything. The results seem normal.
