Got accepted for the beta and finally finished the fat-arse download tonight. If you'll have me I'll probably be interested in joining up when I've figured out what exactly is going on

It is indeed a nice looking game, very sharp and slick high-res interfaces and as I remember Stu saying, the nifty character creation process is a wonder in itself

What race did you choose? I chose amarr only to find that stu's company had a racial standpoint on employees *sniff* 30 jumps it took me I was looking for a better life at Pie inc. only to be turned down because of the colour of my skin and strange facial features

        doh

Do you guys still have the ability to create multiple accounts? On my beta, it lets me make 3 different characters (Ive got an Amaar bird on the go too. I think in retail, Pie Inc will be Amaar based).

Anyway, if u can make multiple accounts, create a caldari character and you can join in

Me and my 2 dutch mates went mining tonight (still doing it now). They used their tiny ships to cane asteroids and I went about collecting up all the goodies in my cargo ship to take them for refining. We're making a lorry load of money doing this.

Edit - here's the screenie (made as a link, for 56k'ers)

Hmm, to be honest, beta accounts are usually wiped after games go retail. Not heard anything so far re: EVE.

This may interest people: I got asked to test the creditcard sign up screen, and was given a test CD key and test dummy creditcard number. The prices there were $12.95 a month, or pay 3 months and save $3 or pay 6 months and save $12.95.

$12.95 is about ?8.13, according to xe.com, which isn't too bad. Unfortuanately, there's probably the cost of buying the game in the first place too. I guess this price compares to the likes of PSO.

I'm happy to pay it tho.

Yeah I recently created a caldari account so as long as I can sort my buggered computer out I'll apply again tommorow. I'm currently in the process of transfering all my Mp3's, Divxs etc to CD-RW so I don't lose em all when I re install windows.

Just as long as the subscription's no more than ?10 I should be buying the finished product when it's released

Jibber, from what I can understand, you need to be Caldari to join Pie Inc in Beta, but once the game goes onlione and the accounts are wiped Pie Inc. will be Amarr only (I think).

It looks impressive, and I yearn to be part of an online gaming community completing missions and the like with folk from this very site, but the idea of being constantly in space does my head in a little - I suppose I enjoy a good wander around cities and towns too much, therefore I'll prob opt for Star Wars: Galaxies with it's ( promised ) mix of ground exploration and space combat, nothing beats decorating your personal online home, after all.

That said, thanks for all the info on this title Stu, I've read it all with great interest, but in terms of becoming part of it I think I'm just going to have to keep pinning my hopes on SWG.

Gari - You *do* know that SWG wont have space combat out of the box dont ya? you wont even be able to fly (apart from chartered flights) until the expansion comes out.

                        Yep, I'm aware of that.

It's just as well as it'll be some time before I can afford a P.C capable of running SWG anyway, so I'll give at least a few months, maybe even a year, for the game to bed in, for bugs to be resolved, the promised add-ons to materialise, then take to it when my patience is finally exhausted.

Part of me is anxious to get in there quickly lest cheaters and hackers rend this virtual world apart, but with such a high-profile MMORPG I find it difficult to believe the programmers haven't considered and taken steps to prevent this. Still, it saddens me that I should even have to be worried about something like that, I wonder if cheaters even realize or care how much damage they do to the online community with their selfish little exploits?

But then that's a discussion for another thread.

I've played Elite before. This looks like it holds nothing new. J/K! Looks quality! Surely this is what everyone has been waiting for since Elite?

You need skills to allow other races into your Corp. They're probably not that expensive, but it's a matter of learning them.

I'm out in a low security sector at the moment, caining the good roids. I'll nip back home now and see what the local university has for sale, I might be able to get you non-caldari in afterall

Sark.. re forum: was planning on working on that today. Being a lazy git, as always.

Right, I'm going to setup an EVE Pie Inc. forum tonight, I'll post the link here. I'll also setup a website at some point, as that's important too. I have an IRC portal to the IRC channel on quakenet (#pieinc) which you can access from internet explorer. I'll shuv all the details up later.

Just to let you non-caldari know, I'm in the middle of training up in some skills to let non-caldari into the corp

Any Caldari wanting to join mean time, our HQ is at Poksu station, in Perimeter
