Hang on guys so if I am understanding you right... a magicbox with the headset recess or communicator filed slightly to fit will work online with no lag and voice comm. working?

Well supposedly yes. If they are both exactly the same ports, apart from the shape, as said earlier it'll be perfectly fine.

I havent got a magic box to test, but i'm definitely gonna be buying one soon.

I'm going to file a headset adapter soon (probably tomorrow) to test it out too.

If you want to test it before you file it down take the top off plug the live adapter in and go to send someone a voice message from the xbox live menu, you can listen to your recording before submiting it.

I did that to test the Fighting stick EX. I would be very surprised if the ports are any different im guessing MS did it so you couldnt plug 2 headsets into a pad.

Is there a convertor readily available that works on Live without any lag?

I tried the Magicbox on Live with my PS2 Hori stick and there seemed to be a second of lag when inputting the commands.

Has anybody tried Magicbox with the PS2 SvC Chaos stick? I know it's not the prefered stick on these forums but I like it!

I tried it today and the Xbox went crazy, it was as if a button was stuck down or something. In Mameox it kept cycling through the menus by itself then reset the console!

Any ideas why this is happening? It works fine with the Dual Shock and Saturn pads.

I tried another adaptor, the ?10 from Console Plus. Can't remember the name but there is a lag problem with that and the stick.

Shame, I really wanted to use the stick with Mameox and FBAxxx.......

For those that are interested, I can confirm that hacking of enough of the casing of a headset adapter does not allow it work work with a Magicbox

I sawed off about 2 mm from each side of a headset adapter, and it still worked with an S pad. I stuck it in the Magicbox and the green light went on, so a connection was definitely made. However, no sound went to the headphones and every game I tried indicated that I didn't have a headset plugged in. The mute button wouldn't make the light go red either. A shame it didn't work.

So, has anyone got any other ideas?

If games makers used thier brain they'd include an option to allow the use of voice through controller 2 like in Steel Batallion, then we wouldn't have to worry about all this

Really? What's wrong with it? I was considering getting one given it was Hori. Oh, and when I meant "on Live" I meant "with the Live headset". Hmn. Might just go for a slightly cheaper non-headset stick if that's the case.

Isn't it possible that the forthcoming SF2 and Pro Evo games will include this option?

I've just got the Joybox from g-funk (thanks!) and like the magic box you can plug the microphone in and get a green light but it doesn't pick it up as a microphone and so doesn't work. Or it didn't for Burnout 3 anyway.
