Right, it does have teletext, i'm telling him to do what you said right now boss. It's not a widescreen TV, 28" 4:3, so there's a possibilty that it doesn't have RGB. I take it he can't get colour screen then if this is the case and the teletext thing doesnt work?

Will post results in a mo.

All there is is sound, and a solid black screen. Just like when he has the digital cable in with the analogue.

      Is there no fix then?

By pressing the text button you are forcing an RGB overlay, if it was a case of the scart not producing the correct voltage to tell the TV to go into RGB mode then you would have got an image, however it looks like he is buggered.

Tell him to rent himself a decent tv for ?30 a month

The TV should have RGB (I typed RPG then, addiction....), i've not met a TV in almost 10 years that hasn't got it, and that includes the Generic crap brands like Beko etc.

A few of the Bush ones didn't have RGB, there was a 34" one that was ?599 when the only other 34" sets available were a Sony and a Loewe bot at over ?2k, this was around 10 years ago and I remember thinking it would be good as a monitor for my Jap PSX, and could not beleive there was no RGB.

Nightmare, i've given up on the whole TV thing, so many different standards and variation. I'm moving to a Monitor based capture card/Dscaler combo.
