I've never had any trouble with, say, an episode of 'Spaced' or whatever (20-30 mins tops), but the most recent film that I tried with Handbrake started off in sync then went out-of-sync after probably about 30 mins.
Could it be anything to do with making sure I've selected the correct format for the source (PAL or NTSC) before I transcode it?
---- Think I miss-read your question!----
Do you mean is the orignal DVD (or at least the rip of it) out-of-sync in the first place? If that's what you mean, then the answer's no it's fine.Last edited by Bydo; 18-03-2010, 11:59.

had a bit of a splurge yesterday as wanted some nice headphones, went to the Apple store and tried out the Dr Dre Beats Solo's and the brand spanking new B&W P5's, no decision to make for me, the B&W's are amazing (as they should be for the money).
build quality and sound are superb, not a bit of plastic in the head set, all leather and metal.
now busy ripping some higher quality mp3 to get more out of them.
anybody used a FiiO E1 apple specific headphone amp, wondered whether it did much for the £20 ?

How much were the B&W's out of interest?

to my ears the Beats whilst very good had a bit of a 'boy racer' souped up artificial bass sound to them, quality was good but didn't feel balanced or natural.
the B&W's weigh in at a hefty £250 but are amazing, closed backs so minimal leak and isolate the outside world away and incredibly comfy to wear. I've never heard such depth of sound from a headphone and I'm coming from a very high end pair of Shure in-ear E4c's with custom moulds.
do some reading on the Dre's, build quality seems an issue and 2 pairs in the Apple store had snapped in the way people seem to be moaning about online. Also the Dre beats do leak quite a bit which means if you are on a noisy train/bus I think you'd get more ambient noise coming in.
always a matter of personal taste and wallet but having tried both I stumped up straight away for the B&Ws

Bit of a strange one here. I got an album off jpopsuki (320kbps cbr) and also from Megaupload. They both seem identical other than slight tagging differences. I put it onto my iPod Classic 120gb and seven of the fourteen songs wouldn't play at all, it just skipped to the next, yet they play fine in iTunes. Both versions do this.
I did some fiddling, changing and removing tags in case there were some weird hidden characters, changing the ID3 tag version in iTunes from 1.3 to 1.0 then to 2.4, same thing happened.
Then I changed the start time of the non-playing ones to 1 second into the song and now they all play on the iPod.
I put them on my 1gb Shuffle (the original white USB stick style one) and they all play fine without changing the start time, as they do on iTunes.
I put them on my iPhone 3G 8gb and they also all play, but two of the dodgy ones hiccup slightly within the first second or so then play fine.
I have a Macbook but the iPod is formatted as a Windows one, not sure if that's involved somehow.
Any thoughts?

I'm quite pleased with them, although they are exposing all the crappy rate MP3s I have now. Sound very crisp and clear with 320kb/s, but anything less sounds quite mushy. I listen to a few music podcasts, and they sound horrible now with these. I have to swap back to my old cheapy sennheiser in ear things!
No issues with the build quality on mine. Wouldn't say they feel rock solid, but they don't feel like they're about to break at any moment.
Have also ordered an extension cable (some Van Damme cable?) off of the 'bay, so I can plug them into my Denon 5.1 amp, which should give me Dolby Virtual Headphone. Will be nice to see how their fairs.

3.1.3 Jailbreak is out now. It's called Spirit.
I'm trying it now, hopefully it won't go tits-up

I've just done it on my 3GS and it works!Last edited by randombs; 03-05-2010, 13:46.

Can someone tell me where I can get the best deal on an ipod classic from? I know nothing about them but seeing as everyone has them I'm going to assume ipods are the best mp3 players available.
Is it not possible to get them in white anymore? Where I'm checking they seem to only have black and silver.Cheers guys.

The white plastic faced iPods of old are gone, the current Classics have black or silver anodized aluminium on the front, it's actually way nicer.
How much music do you actually have? The current model has 120GB of storage, which is a ****load, and goes for about £180 from Amazon. If you don't need as much, you could get the much smaller and lighter iPod nano, which is available in 8Gb and 16GB models for quite a bit less cash.
