My 60GB Photo beast arrived today and what an absolutely astoundingly amazing piece of kit it is. I had to sell my organiser and my DS to have the money and a bit left over for Uni spendage. Sad times but happy days also.

Got a Vaja Case for it on the way though which is also a lovely work of art but that'll be in 3 weeks

                  Taken from Apple's site:
iPod mini, iPod and iPod photo all play (not iPod shuffle!):
AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF, Audible

Learn how to set up and use your iPod touch. Find all the topics, resources, and contact options you need for your iPod touch.

I don't want to insult you, but just so that you don't make a costly mistake, don't confuse wma with wav, as they're very different things. For starters, wav format is much larger, and not used much as Ginza says.

                  Hope that helps,

So aside from having 20G extra, what does your iPod photo do then?

Colour screen, much longer battery life, new easier to use functions, shuffle, ability to view photos, look ma it only needs one hand now too with all the buttons being in the one *thing*. Not sure how to describe it but the bit in the middle

Nice. The colour screen is a nice addition. Would you actually use it for photos? That seems an odd function to couple with an iPod. Of course having album artwork showing when you play would be cool (can it do that?). I just recently bought a 4th Gen 40G (which also has the clickwheel) so I won't be upgrading any time soon but I was amazed how quickly I filled the 40G so 60G would be cool. I suppose it won't be long before they have 80G and higher though. Any idea if its any larger than the 4th gen 40G model?

I had my 40GB for 8 months and managed to fill 29GB worth afaik. I have an addiction with filling the iPod with music which is probably quite unhealthy. Yes it can display album artwork and you can play all the photos and whatever else you have on it through the TV. It is highly impressive. Its a big step up personally from a 3rd gen 40GB because I really didnt like the low battery life which has now been rectified and the colour screen is so sharp it has to be seen to be believed.

I've had my mini for 6 months and absolutely love it but after thinking about it, you know what I'm waiting for..?

The day they announce an ipod with an integrated digital radio, then I will be in heaven. Everthing I could ever want.

                            Sort it out Apple... 8)

Why would you want DAB? The vast majority of stations are worse than FM in terms of bitrate etc.
And besides, when you go back to radio, you soon realise why everyone listens to personal mp3 players. Because DJs are twats who talk over songs, never give you ID3 tags, and your sort of music never gets played.

I've seen them for ?169ish at Amazon but ideally I want one thats as cheap as possible without running the risk of getting skanked on eBay
