Buy & sell electronics, cars, clothes, collectibles & more on eBay, the world's online marketplace. Top brands, low prices & free shipping on many items.

would be used for consoles only, and i have no idea about surround sound.

a;sp will it be able to play dolby digital?

    thanks

This isn't even a surround system by the looks of things, just a set of six speakers for hooking up to a PC. Of course, I just be reading it wrong.

It's just speakers, there's no amp is there?

Hmm, it vaguely makes intimations that there is (absolutely rubbish product description, btw): email them to be sure...

          5.1 means 5 speakers and a sub.

Why not buss a Google search, learn about what this is - THEN start asking about specifics?

Just 3 seconds found me this:

but technically if there are 5 speakers, and you set the game your playing to surround sound, wont it automatically do it?

also Saurian, that is some loong history lesson on surround sound. much easier to ask you peeps for adivce, and you lot probably know more than About.

Those speakers you linked up top were just for plugging into your soundcard. For consoles, you need something with an amplifier and surround sound decoder so it can power the speakers and know what to do with the signals the consoles/dvd player are sending to it. It's not something you can do cheaply. Try that empire link.

That's fair enough but you're not gonna get far with zero knowledge - you havent even mentioned what amp you are using or are gonna use, you should get some background on whatever you are looking for or you'll get hassle and confusion when buying.

I wouldn't buy that without being able to see exactly what connections it's got and what it does. It's totally unclear, even on the manufacturers website.

These are the sort of things you want to be looking at for entry level all in one home cinema with console hook ups. Find your price range then search for reviews on ecoustics.com
Pick something with RGB output and dts, DD and DPLII support with a couple of toslink/optical inputs.
