How are we supposed to know when there is no description of what audio connections this set has and you still havent said what amp you are using? Marmite - I don't know about this new model, but the old Sony HTK one that everyone used to recommend could take the little Acoustic Solutions speaker stands they sell in Argos, as a friend has some.
Personally, I just avoided the problem of speaker stands by buying floorstanders front and rear, but that's rather more expensive...Comment

Yeah ive delved into all the more expensive options (kef eggs, 5005, Acoustic Energy Evo 3B etc) but having not had a surround sound system before im thinking this may well do the trick for me.Comment

Your xbox and PS2 output 5.1 sound via an optical cable. That doesn't have an optical input - therefore no surround sound for you....
YOU NEED:
Something that deals with DD5.1, DTS etc, has optical inputs and coaxial inputs, and doesn't cost ?50. Surround sound is expensive.
