ADSL ? Get yourself a cable modem - v.quick and (fingers x'd) no problems with connections etc.

In fact, since I upgraded to the 1MB service from the 1/2MB they've upgraded me twice and I now have 2MB for the same price 8)

(This sounds like bragging but I'm merely pointing out the option - if it exists for you that is - I think NTL are doing 3MB for a good price now too)

With talk of hitting his trigger level, do you honestly think NTL can be arsed to supply his area? heh

toys r us do a nice wireless router for either adsl or cable, and some swanky wireless bridges, i have 3 wireless bridges connected to 3 xboxes and i get less lag now than when i used network cable, plus its wife friendly too

router is ?55 for cable and ?75 for adsl router
          bridges are ?55 each

peice of cake to setup 1 driver for the computer and sinmply plug the bridges into xbox and away you go

nips, If you haven't committed to a router/modem etc. yet then have a look at this offer for the Netgear DG834G wireless all-in-one

Now, there is a risk that if they're out of stock of the USB adaptors then you might just be buying the modem/router for ?70, which is an okay price, but not spectacular considering PCWorld (of all places!) were selling them for ?45 as part of their 2 day sale earlier in the week.

However, if they have the USB adaptor in stock then the 2 together for ?70 is a good price. It's probably the v1 model as the picture is grey and the improved v2 is white, but it'll still do the job.

Any other ISP's good, that don't have download caps?

All these big PDF's i'll be downloading, and reading, you know, don't want to go worry about a 2gb cap ;p

NTL are upgrading their cable speeds this month.

                750k 17.99 capped at 10gig(me thinks)
                2meg 24.99 capped at 30gig/month
                3meg 38.99 capped at 40gig/month

Oh, ****, I just checked my phone number on BT, just to make sure that it's still going forward, and they mentioned the fact that I've got a daxed line may cause an issue. They weren't clear and didn't tell me action I need to take.

                  Any ideas?

think caps only apply to new customers, I already have a 300k line (17.99) may pay the admin charge to gut it upgraded to 750k but have already downloaded 12gig this month.

Sods aren't they, either have a 300k and no caps or a 750k line with 10gig cap.

I had the same thing(I thought it was DACS, don`t know why, WTF does it mean anyway?), BT said it would need looking at, but they have spent the past two weeks working on the line and yesterday got it up and running. I don`t think you`ll have a problem, they seem very keen to sort it out.

Well I've got a split/daxed dacsed line meaning I've got 2 numbers going to my house, I pay two line rentals, but I can use the phone and the internet at the same time. It's good for 56k because my parents were stressing that they weren't getting any calls, but now I'm getting BB, it's useless and probably limiting.

I phoned up BT and they said that I have to subscribe as normal to an ISP, and they'll sort it out. I'm going to send PIPEX an e-mail in the week to ask them what the protocol is in this situation.

In anycase I spent some ?100 today to get all the **** i need together. Almost there

The line I had must have been split between myself and my neighbour(we are right out in the sticks here), the maximum speed I could get connected at on dialup was 28k.

Man, I wish I`d done that, I thought I would have to go with BT in order to get the line sorted. I got their BB Basic package and I can`t seem to get xbox live working on it.
