Definitely inverted, it is natural for the brain to push forward to go down and pull backwards to go up. You call it up and down on a pad/stick but it is actually forward and backwards if you think about it.

I also like it when you control the camera rather than the player with the right stick like in mario, rather than the character as in splinter cell.

SNES Starfox converted me to inverted. For some reason I actually feel physically sick trying to play an FPS if it's not inverted. Using a mouse however I play as normal.

Seems perfectly natural to me, I don't look at it like pressing up to look down, I see it as tilting my head forward to look down or back to look up.

I hate when some 3rd person games have a left - right camera for looking around and others have a right - left one. It's so hard to get used to if you switch between games that have different methods that you can't change.

ANd how can you use a mouse as normal in FPS games, it's just so wrong!

WOW. It actually suprises me to see so many using inverted controls, i personally cant stand them they feel so un-natural to me. But i guess im in the minority.

Aye, that always gets me too. Guaranteed to get it wrong 50% of the time

I've been having an absolute nightmare of a time with San Andreas due to that very reason, too. Both vertical and horizontal are the opposite from the setup for the platformers I'm also playing at the moment.

I can't understand why anyone would not use inverted (etc)

I always use non-inverted for every type of game, apart from flying sims; where it would detract a little gameplay wise.

I used to like inverted when i first started to play PC First Person Shooters, then i played a game which was non-inverted only (can't remember what it was) which made me get used to it and ditch the inverted method.

Because I've stopped playing FPS freaquently, I alway forget, and then I'll pick up a pad, and play on defaults anyways. Inversion irelevant, crazy huh? Maybe its because I always dissassociate the game from reality anyways?

My friend is amazing, we can have 5 people playing a 4 player game, whoever dies changes. 4 of us can have 4 different settings and he'll pick whichever up and play them as if they were default. Inverted, not inverted, he'll take about 20 seconds max, and he'll be getting head-shots no problems.

I'm always on inverted... I played Halo on non inverted for a while and it felt weird it took me a few levels before I realised it wasn't inverted, but then I changed it and it was like I'd been playing the game for years. It all just clicked.

                        Inverted + 5 points. ;P
