If it doesn't have the SONY ingraved onto it like that one in the pic, then it's a 3rd party one.

    Bin it!

I've been having the same problem!

I have an official PS1 memory card which was working fine on my US PS2 Slimline (saving and loading NTSC games) - until I saved Lunar: Silver Star Story on it. Now the memory card doesn't even show up when I go to browse it.

So I put the memory card into my PAL PS2 and it showed up as corrupted data - and I deleted all the save files. But it still won't work on my US Slimline PS2 even after all the data is gone.

The strange thing is that my other PS1 memory cards with PAL saves show up fine on both of my consoles so I have no idea what the problem is.

Is there any way to re-format a PS1 memory card?

So do I need to get an official one from europe or usa?
Or are u guys sure it doesn't matter from where as long as its official?

Go to gamestation and pick one PS1 official card 2nd hand for couple of quids and it will probably be ok afterward.
