advice on parcel force and their crap service?

    hi.

i ordered a train simulator controller for the ps2 with ncsx (National Console Support) and it was shipped with usps express mail.

through tracking, apparently it arrived in england last friday and a attempted delivery was made on the 14th (bull****).

there has been no updates since on the usps track and trace.

has anything similar happend to anyone else?, could it be delayed cause of customs? and what would you reconmend me to do next?

    cheers!
    butch.

if it states there has been an attempted delivery - its already cleared customs

yeah got some stuff from ncsx and was quite suprised at the speed it was delivered.
an old trick of parcelforce was to stick packages in a warehouse until they had enough to warrant delivery to certain areas - this was stated to me over the phone when i rang to enquire about an overdue package, wouldn't be suprised if this was adopted by other carriers

          thank you very much!

i didnt know it had anything to do with parcel force.

it looks like my local parcel force depot are being arseholes again!

they say that the parcel was out for delivery over a 3 day span (11th-14th june) and now the parcel's status says "HELD".

          what does this mean?

If its anything like my local depot it means they are processing a nasty import tax fee for you and want you to phone to clarify if you want to pay over the phone or at point of delivery.

track it from the usps website first and that will tell you how long it was in customs for - they normally do

less than ten minutes - great, more a bit dodgy

not worth mentioning a nasty customs charge when there might not be a charge and if they have already tried to deliver ( i know they lie, just like every other company) i personally dont think customs is an issue

                cheers.

i not really bothered about paying extra tax, i just want my ****ing item!

this is the second time this week they have pissed me off, with the last parcel being claimed as delivery attemped but i was home all day and didnt even recieve a letter to confirm a failed delivery.

i've sent a nasty email and said how it's unacceptable that a parcel can be at the local depot for 7 ****ing days!, not that i'll get a reply!

well its been in the local depot now for over 10 days!

i was promissed over the phone twice that my item would be sent today, i rang them again a hour ago, to be told delivery will now be tomorrow!

i screamed down the phone saying it was unacceptable, and they lied again about "attempted delivery"

i asked to speak to who ever was in charge and got told "he's not here"

and the complaints phone no. isnt answering

                  what can i do next?

Contact Post Watch I think it is, the regulators for the Royal Mail, lodge a complaint with them mate.

Incidentally, whenever it says HELD, I'll try and get down to the depot myself to pick it up, save myself the aggro of having another day off just for another no-show.

Postwatch/postcom. Yes they are, they are the people responsible for the problems with RM's service because of the rules and regulations they force upon us, they won't help you. They are the reason you have to ring to get a custom's charged item delivered or pay over the phone because they say we are not allowed to knock on a door and ask for money.

That aside, you're better off ringing customer services anyway...

it's a bugger, i live 20 miles from the depot and dont have a car. think i'll have to ask a friend for a lift.

i'm ready to kick some ass, my poor mother has had the butt of it, my throat is so sore from screaming with anger!

                        thanks man!

                            well i finally recieved it!

i also got a email today from postwatch, here is the letter they have sent to royal mail on my behalf for those who might be interested....

                            Dear Mr Lewin

Customer unable to collect as mail directed to house

                            Royal Mail Ref:

I have received the attached complaint. Please look into this and comment on the following points:

                            ? Please review the attached

                            1. Why has the parcel not been delivered as yet?

                            2. Why has he been advised that the parcel would be delivered on numerous occasions, but has never been delivered?

                            3. Why was a card not left for the customer to ring the Sorting Office to collect the item or have it redelivered, can the Delivery Officer be spoken to about this?

                            4. Why was the customer not put through to a supervisor when he asked?

                            5. This is the second time that his parcel has not been delivered or even a card left for him to arrange re-delivery, how can Royal Mail ensure the customer that such problems will not arise again?

                            6. Can the customer be given goodwill for the trouble he has been caused and the phone calls made?

                            Customer?s Resolution:

                            To receive his parcel

                            Investigation to take place

                            Assurance it won?t happen again

                            Compensation Required - ?10.00

                            Yours sincerely

I'm glad you got your parcel but I *so* wish you hadn't involved the regulator to be honest. That has to be a last resort in my eyes because they are already inflicting so many rules the public don't know about and making working conditions very very hard on us guys, I so wish RM would spend some money on informing the public what actually goes on in the business rather than selling products...

I'm really glad you got it sorted though, nice one
