I'd take a pic but you can't see it for all the wires and cables

Its always recommended that you use gang socket adapters rather than those block plugs. They're apparently `safer` (although no one has ever been able give an decent explanation as to why that's the case)

Probably best not to mention that when submitting a claim form to the insurance company tho?

It was dead this morning i unplugged it took the fuse out put it back (the same fuse)plugged it in switched it on.And it worked for a few min then it flicked on and off several times before switching of completly.Would a dodgy fuse be the problem?

Unlikely. The idea of a fuse is that it blows, not that it fails slowly giving intermittent results.

It's probably the TV's power supply or the capacitors that store the charge for the gun that are failing. Either that or it's overheating. Is your place really hot at the moment?

            no its not that hot

tried several things with the tv i think it might be a loose connection
it would stay on for a few min then rapidly flick on and off on and off then it will not come back on

strange really it was ok last night

Sounds like a dry joint, as the TV heat it probably expands the joint and makes a contact, and when it is cool the contact is iffy.
Does it play up more when you first turn it on? Can you try it first thing in the morning when the room is alot cooler?

asking about how many products can be plugged into a single socket? here at work there's *counts* 13... 6 are televisions which are constantly running, one of which is a 42" plasma, a pair of speakers kicking out 5000watts and smaller stereo units with speakers.

the fuse in the plug blows on occasion (5a) but a 13a has been slotted in and works fine so far.

You have just about all the plugs in the house on the one ring, how many plugs you put in one socket makes sod all difference.

I have a Cinepro3K6 power amp and that draws in excess of 30amps on its own, I have had to hard wire it into the mains otherwise it blows fuses everytime you turn it on.
On the socket where I have hard wired it I also have....

                              Surround processor
                              CD transport
                              DVD
                              Video scaler
                              Gamecube
                              PS2
                              Sky
                              Plasma
                              Sub
                              Wireless bridge
                              Snes
                              2 x lamps

The ring mains can take alot.
