Can anyone confirm if the Toshiba 42X3030D does 1080p24. I'm close to buying one from play but I can't find anywhere that as a decent review on it. I know it's meant to be a cracking TV but I just want to make sure about 24fps on it before i hit that add to cart button.

      Thanks in advance.

Kenji: my fellow AVF reviewer Phil reviewed that display and was very happy with it, but apparently 24p input still judders:

Hey guys, just got my Sony KDL 40W4000 and wanted to ask a question about the PC in audio. I'm hooking up my old xbox 360 via the pc cable to the socket seen on the right of the image below. The problem is the cable ends with two stereo audio jacks that don't fit into the little audio in hole below the PC socket. Does anyone know what cable end fits in here and if so are there converters so I can get sound out of the telly?

          Thanks!

            Yes:

An adapter for converting two phono plugs to 3.5mm jack plug.

Briareos, it's a simple 3.5mm stereo jack. You just need a stereo sockets to 3.5mm headphone jack type of cable or connector.

              Get ye down to Maplins....

You can buy 2x RCA to 3.5mm Phono adaptors for the princely sum of £1 on eBay. EDIT - I linked to one on Buy It Now but they don't ship to Italy, which won't help Briareos much!

I thought they included these with the official VGA cable anyway? Mine came with one but they could have stopped packing them in I suppose.

Kind of LCD related but does anyone know of a product that provides a shelving solution if you want to put a hefty centre speaker above and LCD TV? The obvious answer will obviously be "durrrrr...a shelf..." but I'm wondering if there's perhaps some neat little gadget that fits on to the mounts on the back of the TV to support it?

Anyone know of such a thing?

You could create one that screws into the VESA mounts on the back of your TV

Cheers for the tips on the stereo jack guys! I have one already that I use for my rgb > component converter I use for my US wii so I'll liberate that!

When sending a 1080 signal from my xbox 360 over VGA i can't see an option that sets it as either progressive or interlaced, any ideas?

                          All VGA options are Progressive

Huzzah! Now all I need is free time to play! Where can I buy that?

Is it technically possible (depending on the design of the TVs innards etc) to have an LCD that processes HDMI feeds with less lag than VGA?

Yes, but unlikely. I've seen them have the SAME amount of lag, though.
