          The oppo has a mutli voltage psu , you don't need a stepdown

            Yeh, I was getting confused there, never heard anyone talk about stepdowns with the Oppo before.. Was like ...

              Well, it's got the usual American plug, and only says 120V, 60Hz, 20W on the back of it. Same in the manual. No mention of 120v-240v :/

                The Oppo is definately dual-voltage, just use a travel adaptor.

                btw, I got a manual 4-way VGA switcher today.

                Suprisingly, it work great! I could see no loss to my eyes, and I did look close, looked at dashboard text, in-game etc. I am quite picky about such things too.
                Not bad price, and no power supply needed.

                I think with all things VGA, it's the cable that is the difference factor. I've got a few VGA extention cables here which are lossy as heck even at 0.5m.
                Make sure to use as little, and as short a cable as possible. For example, instead of using a cable to attatch the switch box to the DVI splitter cable, I just use a gender changer - less cable. Make sure to get decent quality cables, with ferrite cores at both ends.

                  I was under that impression when I bought it, this is on their website:
                  Power Supply:

                  * ~~110V - ~~250V, 50Hz/60Hz AC Universal Power Supply
                  * Automatic Short Circuit Protection
                  I've emailed them just in case, I want it up and running before my LG 32LX2R arrives on Monday.

                  Edit, here's the reply:
                  When we were tested for FCC compliance, we only applied for 120V/60Hz (US Standard). Because of this, we are not legally allowed to list 110~240V 50/60Hz on the back of the unit or in the user manual.
                  However, the internal power supply unit is completely compliant.
                  So I'll cut off the plug and put a new UK plug on.

                    Bit of advise from you current LCD owners. When playing DVD's on my new set I'm finding that on most disks includding the likes of SW episode I, I am getting alot of what I would call image noise. It highlights itself especially on whites, but is there to me on all colours. Very hard to describe, but it to me is making the image slightly fuzzy, as colours are not constant solid colours. Notice this mainly when playing DVD's primarily through the Xbox360 atm, and also through my old Sony DVD player. Does not happen with the HD images which I get through the 360, and I'm therefore wondering if this is an issue with displaying current DVD's on the set without upscaling them to 720P.

                      What the speakers ? The one in black as no one answer the previous questions.

                      I think I will go for Sharp LC37GA6E for my TV

                      Once I checked it out. I had a nagging feeling 32" would not satisfed me. I got 590 pounds at the moment. So this mean about 5-6 weeks wait and saving before I can buy it. Still there is no rush.

                        The 360 is a shockingly bad DVD player, especially on HD screens

                          Some people on the avforums have been saying that this panel shares many similarities with the P50 series, which means it has excellent SD viewing (probably one of the best of any LCD TV's). I haven't personally connected up anything fancy, but using an indoor ariel I can get a watchable picture.

                          I know you wanted the Toshiba a few pages back as an alternative, but I'd easily recommend one or the other depending on your requirements.
                          If you're going to be watching HDTV from next year onwards with very little/no SDTV, then get the tosh. Otherwise you can't go wrong with this set

                          Just as a sidenote, consider the GD7E too. It's the model above this (the one i wanted) but I couldn't justify spending a lot more on it, at such a relatively small size (26").

                            Legendary, are you thinking that a 32" will be too small for where you want to put it, or have you actually sized it out?

                            When I first looked at the 26inchers, I thought that it was too small for me, but once I got it, it is actually quite big, and anything bigger for me would be too much.

                              Yeh Im exactly the same, I was thinking of 32" but I'm glad I didnt now as I have quite a small room here and I sit rather close to the TV so anything over 26" would be silly.

                              Plus, there would be no extra space on my unit for my speakers!

                                My 26" dwarfs my bedrooom. Thought it was too big at first, though I soon adjusted.

                                If it's for a large living room though, you may want to consider 32" or larger.
