Ace. Do you get any problems with view angles? What's the picture like when you are above and below or left and right?

    Sorry to be a pain

If you get the WLT68 you can join my Samsung R41BDX convert club!

My old Tv was the Le26R41BDX and the WLT68 blows it away. Especially with the Standard Definition stuff. The viewing angle is fine, not quite as good as the samsung but still excellent.

Did I start this whole Toshiba thing here? Everyone was happily buying Sonys until I started gushing praise over Toshiba TVs!

Changing topic a little - I saw that new 1080p Sharp in Selfridges recently and it looked good to me, although an in store display is obviously not the best way to judge things. Couldn't hear the fans on the back due to store noise. They also had a 60" 1080p Panasonic plasma, which also looked lovely. Much as I love my 42" Toshiba, I kind of wished I had gone for the 47" model.... more size is good.

Since this is my first LCD I can't compare it to others, but the screen does go a little bit lighter when moving from side to side. Nothing that would ruin a film though.

Does anyone know if this KDL40W2000U is any different from the KDL40W2000, as it's quite a good price at Richer Sounds?

Thinking of getting this at some point this year (might be even cheaper then).

Can I get some advice please? We are upgrading to a 32" HD Ready LCD TV from 28" CRT but I wanted to know if anyone had any feedback on either of the following TVs? I'm leaning towards the Evesham because of the 3-year swap out warranty but is it any better/worse than the Samsung?

Evesham 32'' Alqemi SX LCD TV

                Samsung LE32R74BDX

They're the same price but that Evesham warranty is looking pretty tasty. I think the Samsung looks better but not that much. Anyone out there will have more technical know-how than me so I'm open to advice, suggestions and whatnot (although please note the budget is ?600!)

                Cheers in advance

                Dan

Just do it, I've owned the Samsung, The Sony and The Toshiba. The Toshiba wins.

Andrewfee (TV uber geek) has had like a million LCD Tvs and sent them back because of things irritating him, he has stuck with the WLT68.

Quite a few people people here have picked this set up since it launched in september and everyone has been dead impressed with it.

Thank Lyris! I think I'll probably get this then, good review on DVD Times by the way!

Some may be interested to know, I updated my 32S2030 review now I've had chance to give the HDMI a real test (PS3) as well as 1080i (HD-DVD and PS3).

Right, need a bit of advice people. I've been looking at purchasing a new LCD for use primarily as a computer monitor, which can maybe double up for 360 use from time to time (will still be using my main 26" screen for most gaming). Question is, which one do I go for.

Has a look at this and this, but each comes with their problem. The Sony is impossible to find (although seems to be EXACTLY what I'm after) and the Samsung has no component and a very odd resolution (for non-PC use anyway). Anyone have any opinions on these sets, or recommend anything similar for me?

I would of said if it was for PC use, then the samsung is the better one to go for. its specs look more geared towards it being a monitor. Get yourself a Vga cable and you have an ace 19" 360 monitor.

The Sony one may well have a cheap panel in it as those small combi sets often do. Unless you specifically want to watch Tv and use game consoles (which probably won't look great via the other connections) then I wouldn'y bother.
