So my Be Broadband connection was activated yest. Have to say i am VERY pleased with the modem and the easy installation, but what i will say is. My download speed is only 8meg, and i only live 1km from my exchange. - Anyone got an idea as to why it isn't anywhere near the 24meg?! - If im honest i wasnt expecting anything like 24 meg more like 15-20 but 8! - Think I will talk to them but opinions would be nice...Comment

Are you sure you're only 1km away? That sounds like a drastic comedown from 24meg but it also depends on your line quality. Maybe you got a crusty old copper line, but I dont think BT would change it for 1 customer unfortuantely!Comment

I am 1.2 km away from my local exchange, theres some site i used to check the distance, as for my line..I'm living in a 1930's block of lflats and the wiring to all the communal lights has just rotted away so i wouldnt be surprised if it's that!Comment

Ordered it on 8th Sept and was actiavted on thurs so about a month but that was due to a technical fault at my local exchange though.
Ran a few speed tests and my connection is just under 3 meg at the mo!

If the site you used to get the distance was samknows.com then that is the straight line distance.
Can be well over double that in realityComment
