It will be the same for now, think all NTL BB customers will have the option "sometime" in 2006 to upgrade to the 10mb line but will be pretty harshly capped - unless you pay the higher monthly price of ?35+ (as per my post earlier today)

Ive heard that NTL have now made the 10MB service unlimited, apparently. I download loads, and often exceed the stated cap they had in place, but have never suffered disconnection or charges because of it. If its true its totally unlimited, it will be welcome in any case.

I'm on ntl 10mb and our house downloads loads, they've never said anything to us about caps but im pretty sure they're throttling certain stuff at peak times of day - speeds tend to go about 800kb/s at the dead of night but only about 200kb/s in the day. Not that bothered really, as it's all ample but it might be worth knowing.

I had this problem a few weeks ago. After 2 hours and 5 phone calls i spoke to a woman on accounts. She flicked a switch at her end (or whatever they do) and i could use my 360 on Live again.

NTL seem to be next to useless when it comes to problems like this im sorry to say.

Wait wait its getting better, it's nothing to do with NTL, it's a fault with the live servers. And they don't support using a 360.

come to think of it, i did have a problem a month ago... the t'interweb was amazingly slow and the indian chick walked me through the turning off of the modem etc. like i hadn't tried.

well if it's anything like the **** up that's going on with my gas supply....

                        we're with powergen.
npower kept sending letters addressed to our house but under someone else's name... phoned up and it turns out they're in charge of our supply. told them to chuff off.
british gas wades in and also tries to take over, in the process of telling them to chuff off.

i pay powergen so how the **** are the other 2 in control of my supply?? i think you could play these losers off against each other to pay nothing if you could be arsed.

wtf?! you play powergen so really they should do stuff to protect you as a customer, like sending people to have a word with the other two. possibly with horses heads involved.

Let me guess, they told you to phone MS?

"Im sorry sir, but we dont have nothing to do with Xbox Live" Well what about the fact YOU supply my broadband?

At least im getting a free upgrade to 4mg very soon.

hmm, don't you think it's more likely that there's loads of people using the t'internet during the day as opposed to a few uber geeks who'll torrent all night, and some sad kids on Xbox live, and due to the daytime contention ratio you'll have slow speeds?

I can play online games on Live no problem. If I try to download anything from Marketplace I get disconnected every single time. I then have to go and reboot my cable modem.
