If you go to the tech support section of the nintendo wifi website you can type that error code in and it'll tell you your problem exactly.

I think 52200 is firewall related although I might be wrong, like I said, zonealarm sometimes enforces rules when its disabled, or sometimes uninstalled, thats why I hate it so goddamn much, makes a mess of your windows tcp/ip.

anyway, dont give up! its not that hard.

            get to the webby

such a hassle just to go online - imagine all the kids out there who aint got a clue about PC's and firewalls and are just sat there scarred?

i would have thought nintendo would have come up with a better solution and easier access?

i've tried that nintendowifi site but still no luck, the DS just throws out random error messages - i swear i'll just dash that usb adapter in the trash at some point : (

i don't see why the DS just does'nt support direct internet access via broadband USB into the DS or soemthing like that?? why does it have to be wireless connection? stupid

"Such a hassle just to go online - imagine all the kids out there who aint got a clue about PC's and firewalls and are just sat there scarred?"

They could go to mcdonalds, the train station, or they could get someone else to set it up, really the USB adaptor is very simple, you plug it in, you run the software, its the pc thats at fault with all its extra protection etc, and the firewalll not being configured correctly.

not everyone needs to run a personal software firewall, which are normally always useless and cause the problems you are having right now, especially zonealarm. some people have hardware routers/firewalls which just work.

"i would have thought nintendo would have come up with a better solution and easier access?"

How would you suggest it could be made easier? I mean no wires, just put the usb stick into a properly configured pc and it works. simple.

"i've tried that nintendowifi site but still no luck, the DS just throws out random error messages - i swear i'll just dash that usb adapter in the trash at some point : ("

Did you browse the tech support forums or just swear at it ? its your firewall, or pc more than likely, not the adaptor at all.

"i don't see why the DS just does'nt support direct internet access via broadband USB into the DS or soemthing like that?? why does it have to be wireless connection? stupid"

its more complex, I can walk into town and play mario kart ds with no wires, why would you want a USB port on the top of the DS which you plug the USB stick into, thats far more complex, you'd have to route the IP from your computer still, to the DS, probably using windows ICS, which sucks, or you'd buy a hardware WAN router / firewall box.

good luck with getting it working, try formatting your pc, I know zonealarm I'd avoid like the plague, so .. its up to you.

i think it would have been wise to give people the choice between wireless and direct access at least...then going online would be alot easier for people who have standard broadband connections and could just plug it in to the DS via USB

i'll keep trying to get it to work though

I don't get how this would work, what would you plug into the DS if it had a USB port?

                    the modem you have?

I dont have a usb modem, plus, this way you can use the PC online at the same time, if you directly connected your 'standard broadband' to your DS via USB you would be the only machine online, the pc wouldn't be able to surf.

plus, what is "standard broadband" ? , theres no such thing, in all reality your idea would make it twice as complex.

i mean a lead you could plug directly into you DS from your PC and connect that way using a broadband connection

i mean standard broadband, as in an NTL boradband line or something similar...

you'd have to setup some sort of routing on the pc , unless their software did that,

and, what about the fact the USB connector handles 5 DS's ? you'd need 5 wires coming from the pc and everyone huddled around it.

with the 'standard broadband' you suggest, most people would just buy a WAN router with wifi point / firewall built in, like I have. this would plug into the modem and you would plug any pc's into the wan router. the DS would go online wirelessly with this method too.

well, after re-installing my PC and removing zonealarm i finally got my wireless connection to work!

though now my PC has no security?

anyway, if anyone wants a thrashing on mario kart let me know - hehe

                            congrats!

use the windows SP2 firewall tool, that way at least it comes with XP. I'd avoid zonealarm, like I said, its rubbish.

                            happy karting!

On AOL, I was still getting blocked even with the SP2 firewall. C'est la vie. Still I'm secured up to the eyeballs everywhere else, so it hasn't actually let anything on my system from dropping it.

so now i'm officially pis.sed off!

I turn my PC on tonight to play some online Mario Kart and guess what, i'm getting the 52103 error messages again!

I just do not understand why the first time i install the USB adapter it works fine but then when i turn my PC off and on it won't grant me access to the server?

Does anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong, if i'm not changing any settings why won't it let be back on?? i have NO firewalls installed too?

                                any help?
