Soz - I have to pimp this display - People buying 26inch LCD TVs for 750 quid is pure lunacy. Buy one of these Sanyo bad boys then spend the rest on a cheap ho.

Having to move your head to catch all the action really brings gaming to a whole new level.

Got my premium pack on Friday (Thanks Gameplay!) and also managed to pick up a VGA cable.

      I own a Dell 24" TFT - 2405FPW

I found the VGA picture to be a little washed out but component was way too dark and the image wasn't as sharp.

PDZ looks excellent in VGA and has some display settings hidden away in a menu specifically for TFT monitors. I see no tearing in this game on my setup.

Oh yeah Fallows, I feel that love

(heh, so I'm still on component on xbox but I totally agree on the head-moving; it's a great experience)

Sanyo PROxtra X - bulbs cost ?200 max and last 3000 hours (3/4 years for me)

That may sound hefty although if you think about how often you're going to spend ?500-?1,000 on a new telly it's quite reasonable.

Having done some more testing of component at 720p and VGA at 1360x760 (native res of my telly) it is quite clear that VGA gives a better picture. There isn't a huge amount in it, but VGA is definitely sharper. Less colourful, but better overall imo.

The thing that is bothering me though is the frame rate issue. The first time I plugged in the VGA cable I thought that the frame rate in PGR3 was worse. After loads of cable swapping I'm less sure. It may be just that because the VGA image is sharper, the motion blur effect in PGR3 is less pronounced so that you notice the not super slick frame rate.

I would be interested in hearing what other people think though.

Also, does anyone know if it would even be possible for the different resolutions to effect the frame rate? I mean I've read that the 360 works at a certain res internally and then scales up/down as appropriate. If this is the case, logic would say that the frame rate would be independent of the res.
