    My 360 Is Broke!!

All of a sudden, it just wont run any games or dvds!!

Happened last night for first time, I tried to play Tiger Woods 06 and it wouldnt load. Thought that was strange as it was a perfect disc, just out the wrapping, untouched apart from when I put it in the 360 on xmas day so theres no scratches or marks on it. So I tried PGR3, nothing!! Then CoD2, nothing! Condemned.. Nothing!!

Thought I'd try a DVD, Sin City, oh that worked. Woohoo. Put Tiger back in and it loads fine. No problems. Thought everything was okay. Played perfect, no hitches.

Then I go to put it on this morning and nothing plays, try all 4 of my games, about 10 DVDs, none of them work, it tries to load the game and then nothing happens, acts as if the tray is empty. And loads to the dash. I tried a few CDs and they all worked first time, no problem at all loading it. Quick and fast.

I have no idea why this is happening, I've had zero problems since I got it.
Not as if its even hot or anything, fan isnt going mental and hardly any hot air is coming out anyway. So its deffo not overheating..

I just tried TW again and its loaded now, but I shouldnt have to go through all that to play a game, I wanted to play it half an hour ago!!

Going to speak to Game today, and I wont be handing it over until they have a replacement ready to give me.

I should get it replaced shouldnt I?
I refuse to be screwed by this!!!

Might be something to do with the lens as its only the discs that arent working right? Try using a DVD lens cleaner which might sort the problem.

Also, I dont think Game will be able to replace yours as stock is low at the moment, and even if they did have stock, they will want to sell it instead of giving a replacement, right? I think they'll tell you to contact M$.

Do any downloadable Live demo's work? If not, then surely it's the drive.

Might be quicker to get MS to fix the thing instead of waiting for Game to get stock.

It seems like there is a major problem with 360's. I have seen lots of posts regarding machines dying. Looks like you have to be very lucky to have a machine that's still running well.

I don't know why the machines are failing, and why there are so many problems, but theres no doubt it's a serious problem.

I am still going to buy one, but I will be prepared for it to go wrong!

Maybe by the end of January this whole issue could be big news!

mine worked fine for 3 weeks or so, then got 3 red lights, and it never worked again, but MS turned the console round within 3 working days.

Day 1 dropped off a box, and courier picked it up, day 2 they received it, day 3 i had a replacement.

Apparantly they used to do advance replacements (you give the courier the xbox and they give you a new 1) but peeps would just give the courier a box with brick in etc

Wonder how many people will continue to slag Sony build quality in the face of all these 360 issues. PS2 was never this bad.

My 360 is going back to M$.
It turns on and I am greeted by a black screen. I have to turn it off & back on (everytime) to get a picture.
Called customer support & got through straight away, unfortunately the guy I spoke to only learned to speak english 5 years ago in Coventry! (I'm from Cov). I had to repeat myself a fair bit, then my serial code wasn't valid, by the time we'd finished he knew my address off by heart!
I only need to send back my 360 & power supply - nothing else.
I'm not sure how happy I feel about it being taken for repairs, surely a replacement should've been offered? If I'd taken it back to woolies (none in stock) it would've been replaced.

PSP had issues and the PS2 also had problems in NA and JP.
Just wait to the PS3 launches, I don`t think so will be so easy to deal with Sony.

Microsoft have not had many problems. The few who have had problems have gotten their 360 replacement. Top customer service.

I must be one of the lucky ones. I've never had a PSone, PS2 or PSP break on me.

Me neither. I mean there are the usual launch niggles that you tend to hear rumours about (PSPs launching discs across the room etc) but you rarely read of 1st hand experience of such problems. Unlike with the 360 it seems.

Same here my 4-Year Old US PS2 still works fine, my PAL launch PS2 which my brother has now works fine and my PSone still works as well. The only machine I've ever had any problems was the DC I had that annoying problem were it kept resetting but I managed to fix it.

I wouldn't say my 360 is broke (especially compared to the problems some other people are having with the system) but either the video output is suffering from poor build quality or the cable that came with the machine is. To top matters off, just rung my local GAME in the small hope they might have a VGA cable.

They did. They sold out this morning. Typical - I couldn't get through yesterday.

Maybe your opinion would be more valid if you waited a year before you start saying rubbish, eh?

Honestly, This is at LAUNCH, there are always problems, the true test is to see if the problems are actually fixed. And in that Case with Sony, No they're not, Machines are STILL reported to getting DREs after all this time. I actually know someone who has had 8 PS2s cuz they've all ****ed up, and to make things worse the customer Service at Sony is pretty craptacular.
Oh yeah, I've just checked with all my friends and all our 360s are broken, after 3 minuets worth of play .

What makes it more funny as its gonna be at least twice as bad at the PS3 launch, people (Not saying its you or anyone else on this board, just retarded sony fanboys) have to come to grips and accept that theres gonna be a hell of alot of defaulty units (Mostly the CELLs fault, as its a pretty big chip and first times its getting manufactured). I'm also sure the PS3 is going to suffer from being Loud (as with the X360) and have a seperate PSU. Not forgetting that demand for the ps3 is much, much bigger than for the X360.

Tis the price for better graphics.
