I'VE HAD IT. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! MY DAMN TV.
My TV is a little old now, it is the one that I have in my room. It is about 3-4 years old. It is a Goodmans TV, 4:3, and about (Guesstimate) 22" viewable screen. The serial number is: FT88262046. The TV was purcased in the UK, in a Comet, I believe!
I've been to the Goodmans Website: http://www.goodmans.co.uk/, but it is underconstruction and am therefore unable to get any information from there!
I don't know why, but whenever I play any games on it, the picture isn't straight! I've got lot's of consoles set up, some using AV scarts and others using an analogue lead and none of them fit the screen all the time. The only game that will work properly is Mr Driller on the DC, and that is becuase there is an option to align the screen.
For example, Super monkey ball has a Black 0.75" space around the right and bottom of the screen, this means that you can't see the top or left of the screen fully. In Zelda: TWW; there is a good 0.75" black space at the bottom of the screen which means that I can't see what is written above the 'Z' button. This is true in both cases using an RGB lead in 60hz and 50Hz. Although, in Cut Scenes the picture is centred again! In Rez on the DC using an RF lead, there is a black space on the left hand side of the screen, this is in both 50 and 60Hz.
To throw a spanner in the works, when I play an NTSC-USA copy of Metriod Prime, booted using Action Replay, the game looks perfect. The loading screen at the beginning, isn't quite right. But when I am playing the game, everything is good. And whenever I watch a DVD the picture is stright and true!
I have no idea what the problem is, but I want to be able to play games in my room, and am unable to at the moment due to the increasingly infuriating black lines that occur in the games that I play, which really do hinder progression, especially in LoZ:TWW!
Have any of you any ideas what the problem could be and how I can over come it?
Thanks in advance;
-Mike
EDIT: Revised the title!
