Oh and I tried it on Crisis Zone. I've got a chinese copy of TC3 turning up from PA soon to try too.

Forgot to mention. The outer couple of inches of the screen seem to be a bit off, as if when it nears the edge of it's range, it doesn't drag the target quite far enough to the edge. I only noticed it when I turned the laser pointer back on. I was sub-conciously compensating for it during game normally by noticing where the bullet holes were appearing, so having no trouble shooting stuff at the edges.

That gun sounds like a damn good buy...just wondering how far you have to be from the screen. I could maybe get 2-2.5m from my screen and its 47". Would this be enough?

          Thanks

5m is the absolute max you can be from the screen, but that's for a 60-120" screen. For my 32", I'm holding the gun at about 1.8m from the screen. I reckon 2-2.5 will be fine on your 47" screen.

I've used this a lot more now and have RSI nicely in my trigger finger, so I've tried the autofire (2 stage: 1=5 shot with a break, 2=constant). Also, I've turned off the recoil - it's not quite quick enough to keep up with my finger, so messes with my concentration (and will wake the dead).

Oh and when it's plugged in on startup, the ps2 thinks it's a guncon so goes to guncon calibration in the game, which you can't get out of without a reboot, so you have to plug it into the usb port after it's started accessing the memory card for the game.

That sounds really promising. I've never got into PS1/PS2 lightgun games, so this will give me an excuse...

Hmmm... I really want that TopGun now, but I dunno if I dare getting it shipped over to Germany where I'm living now :P ...it's not bright blue plastic... :P

Heheh. The cable sticking out of the bottom might give the game away slightly
Do it. Use our play-asia banner too.
It's dirt cheap and works fairly well. Recently I've been playing Vampire Night. Hilariously dreadful acting.

Cheers for the recommendation ...I got it recently, but was stumped with TC3 until I read your comment above ...lifesaver.

And seemed to come through the mail OK which is nice... especially after all this 'killerspiel' dross in the news over here lately.

Last weekend I tried my newly Joytech Sharp Shooter 2 Arcade Light Gun on my Philips 28PW8504 television (from '98) and discovered it didn't work.
The box claims it even works with HDTV (not LCD/Plasma).
Does anyone have any experience with this gun and 100Hz crt tv's?

My Speedlink 100hrz Desert Eagle works fine. I was thinking if one 100Hz light gun works, other brands should as well, but now that doesn't seem the case.

Oh, and does anyone know if any 100Hz light guns work on the Philips 28PW9551?

Are you running in 120Hz perhaps? Perhaps it only supports 100hz. Clutching at straws here.

?t's a PAL tv, so can't imagine that. Or does that happen automatically when running a game in 60Hz. Then again, I don't recall these PAL lightgun games having a 60Hz option, though I'm not totally sure on that.

I'm having my eye on the Rifle LightGun: http://cgi.ebay.nl/PS2-Xbox-Rifle-Li...QQcmdZViewItem

The seller claims to have sold many and never had complaints about it not working on 100Hz tv's. They also sell the Joytech Sharp Shooter which doesn't work on my 100Hz telly, so I've also asked them if they never gotten complaints about that gun.

Anyone have any info on this?

Unfortunately all my light guns don't work on my new Philips 32PW9551

Still, I do wonder what the criteria is for it to work or not. My Philips 28PW8504 has digital scan and I thought that was something that ruled out the option of using a light gun, but like said the Speedlink 100hrz Desert Eagle works fine.

                                Surely someone knows something? :P
