it's without a spine but apparently in good nick, is this an ok price to pay?
i thought reading your wanted add that offer ?70 for a complete one was quite low - so i guess ?78.50 shipped is pretty okay
if you want a spine VGI have one for ?20
i've bought 1 here (for me) for ?90 and i won 1 on ebay (for a pal) for ?81
both complete and minty

Arcade mode is available from the start. You just need to choose which version you want to play in the options.
Saturn mode lets you "save" your weapons so they're still upgraded for the next time you play. There are extra FMV clips and more hidden "Merry dogs" to find in the SS mode too.
For me:
Saturn mode = for fun
Arcade mode = for high-scores

oh right, thanks
how do i 'upgrade' weapons btw, i've tried looking for tips sites for the game so i know exactly what i'm meant to be doing, but so far i've just worked out i've gotta chain loads like in ikaruga
can anyone explain the chaining system exactly aswell? all the different colours etc are kinda confusing in relation to the chain combo scores i'm getting. i know i'm meant to get them in 3's or whatever, but can i get 3 red, then 3 blue, then 3 yellow, etc. i dont quite get it
also, i realised i could set it to arcade in the options, but when i do, it comes up with 'insert coin(s)', rather than press start like it does on saturn mode. whats going on there? or is there a secret button to 'insert coins'
Cheers

3 red, 3 blue, then 3 yellow is a special chain worth 10000, but yellow enemies are few and far between, so it's not often you get that opportunity. Most enemies are red or blue.
You're better off just sticking to the red ones since they're the most common and ignoring all other colours untill you learn the levels. Unlike Ikaruga, you need to keep the chain the same colour otherwise the chain is broken. Although you can go 3xred, 3xblue, 3xyellow then stay on yellows to keep getting special chains.
If you keep a single-colour chain going long enough, the bonus will eventually be worth 100000pts.
Chaining is how you upgrade the weapons, but only the weapon you are using gets upgraded - kill everything with the vulcan and that's the only one that'll become more powerful, so it's best to mix it up a bit and also use the spread & homing shots.
One of the buttons inserts a coin in Arcade mode. Can't remember what the standard pad config is, but it might be the L button.

cheers mate, legend
so in a sense, you've gotta stick to one colour throughout a level? or is there some sort of magic trick for switching colours even if you're on max chain or whatever
also how will i know when a weapons upgraded? or does it just tell meLast edited by deded; 11-05-2006, 19:56.
