Running it now.
I have to say, it's pretty beautiful!
Rather slow, and it's given my PC a performance rating of 3, but still very good looking.
The aero desktop looks incredibly nice.
Whether it's actually of any use to me that XP isn't, is yet to be seen.

Im getting the 64bit version via vistatorrent, its a legal torrent site thats getting better seeded now, speeds arent that fast for me though, only 25-30k atm.Comment

Anyone got the Media Centre part connecting to their 360? There seems to be some region protection on the beta as it tells me my PC dvd drive is the wrong region on my 360 when I try to run media centre. However I'm sure all my drive/windows settings are in PAL/UK.Comment

Got mine up and running but it was a bit of a pain to get any kind of sound from my Audigy 2 ZS, got some now bit it can cut out a bit every now and again when the machine is loading anything. The official Vista 64 drivers don't work had to use XP 64 ones to get any sound!!Comment

Not sure if its actually in vista as standard but I've done a simple Xbox Live gamertag gadget for the sidebar. Its fairly unimpressive but it should work, although I've not had a chance to test it yet since I'm at work. What can I say I'm bored
In a "Run" prompt (Windows Key+R), type
?%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets?
without quotes
Create a folder called xboxlive.gadget
Put these files in the folder (Save Target As):
It should just be a case of trying to add a new item to your sidebar now and an Xbox Live Gamertag item should be in that list.
Edit - Oh and I've not been clever and added an item to change your gamertag with an option you'll have to edit the display.html yourself
Obviously anyone feel free to add this function.
Edit 2 - Turns out gadgets don't like iframes but i have managed to get it at least displaying my gamertag just need to get it to auto update now.

I had the same sort of problem - it kept telling me (on the 360) that the disc in the tray was the wrong region, even though the tray was empty.Originally posted by demon9k

Yeah I had the same problems, 64bit vista wouldn't have any sound with the creative vista drivers, but 32 bit vista worked fine.Originally posted by RoostComment

I'm all Vista'd up really like the look, partition magic seems to have made a right mess of my C drive, XP won't even boot up since I've added the partition but will sort that another day ....
Got a 1517 error message after the new partition was created.

Finally finished the torrent download, so will be installing this onto a seperate HD this weekend. Im hoping its more streamlined than the previous builds Ive tried, as I was really pleased with it initially.Comment

Loving Vista, one thing though, can the size of the desktop icons be reduced (recycle can etc) they seem oversized by default (especially compared to XP)Comment
