Im tempted, the 10MB service will save me ?300 a year based on current pricings.

    2mb - Free per month - usage limit 2GB - activation fee ?40
    8mb -?5 per month - usage limit 40Gb - ?20 acivation fee
16mb - ?10 per month - usage limit unlimited (fair use policy) - Activation fee Free

there all at it, first Talk Talk, then Orange and now Sky, Sky 10mb offer is very tempting though, free broadband, the way forward Be interesting to see what BT/NTL etc have up their sleeves.

Mind you BT are doing well out of the fact that if you join up to Talk Talk and the like you must have a BT line.

Is this just reselling dsl then? Or is it somehow via satellite?

Says up to 16mb on that sky.com/broadband link for ?10 a month. If the service turns out to be good I will have to switch.

Ive registered an interest and will wait and see what speeds etc they are offering for my area.

          Charles - its ADSL.

Says here you also get a free wireless router.

The telephone number to call if you are an existing customer is 08702 402900 - this saves you being routed to India, and the god-awful automatic phone system.

I've registered too, its a good batering tool with NTL to get my 10mb even cheaper from them

Thats what Im thinking - my NTL has been fine for me, with no extra charges for all the stuff I download, so really Id like to carry on with them than risk moving to a new provider who limits my usage or whatever. It being possibly 6MB faster than my current 10Mb isnt really a big factor either, as 10Mb is still blindingly fast. So once I have the details through from Sky Ill be calling NTL and threatening to leave them unless they reduce my price

same here even though I am only paying ?17.49 for the 10mb package. If they dn't give it me cheaper then I will switch to Sky

I'm thinking exactly the same, ?35 a month for 10MB currently with NTL or ?10 for 16MB. If its a good service I will definitely want to switch, but I download ALOT of stuff so if they have even a slight cap I dont think I'll manage.

I just checked and I downloaded 150GB in June alone.

Mmm... ADSL, I'll stick with Telewest I think and see what their response will be.

It's ADSL. Some of it is on the Easynet/UKOnline network, where you get the highest speeds, rest of it is just reselling.

I get it for free :-)

Yeah, Orange have bought Wanadoo, Sky have bought Easynet and Vodaphone are looking at bulldog which'll mean even more work for me

As I've just moved and so need to sort out a new bband supplier (after I get the bloody stupid previous tenants to stop the Bulldog line and acc which is incredibly annoying but that's another story) this quite interests me.

I would normally never go for Sky as I can't justify ?30+ pm just to watch the footie etc but if I were to get that with bband included, so say around ?40pm, it all of a sudden becomes a very attractive prospect.

May just wait a few weeks to see other isp's response as this has to shake the market up somewhat.

I'll wait until their network is rolled out into my area but it definitely looks good. As others have said the up to 16mb service looks the best value.
