It's got 5 stars for connectivity and it's HD ready so it should do. I don't have a lot of faith in Samgung plasma's though, despite the good price.

Check out some reviews first. Richer Sounds are doing 50" panasonics that will have an infinitely better picture, but I'm not sure if they're HD. They're in the clearance section of their site.

1024x768 at 50" - that will look ****e. The pixels will be bigger than 1mm
You'd need to sit abot 20' away for it look half decent.
At that size I would look for at least 1920x1080 res. At ?2k you can get a decent 37" 1080 screen with a full complement of connections.
