You should try ebay, there's a shop that sells 2 way and 4 way boxes there iirc.

Well I finally got pissed off with the dreadful ghosting on the cheap 2-way ebay one so I took a cheap chance on a 4-way Blackbox ServSwitch Wizard. 16? delivered on ebay.

It's rated to 1600*1280. I'm running my pc at 1600*1200 and there is a small amount of ghosting but you have to be very close to notice.
It ps/2 and draws the power it needs from them (unless you chain them together). At the moment it doesn't detect middle mouse clicks but the mouse wheel is fine. Will have to check out the firmware on the blackbox site.

It seems good enough and cheap enough if the only thing pissing you off is really nasty ghosting. If you wanted perfection this one isn't for you.

Bloody hell, is there such thing as a VGA switch box that works? I'm beginning to doubt!

I've given up really, I'm going to stick with the 360 in my VGA port and PC and DVD through HDMI. Now I need an HDMI switcher though . Damn these tv manufacturers for putting so little inputs on their tv's.

I have just ordered one of these.

In theory, this would allow me to plug 2 machines (PC and DC) into my TV's 1x VGA port without switching, since these are bidirectional.

I'll let you know if it works!

I have a very similar cable made by Belkin. When I try to have the DC and Xbox 360 connected to the TV simultaneously the 360's picture is darker than normal. Unhook the DC and it's perfect again.

Well, I don't plan to have 2 devices turned on simultaniously, so...
                  But we'll see.

I'm talking about having the 360 on with the DC off. Still seems to rob a portion of the signal from the 360 though.

Most 'splitter' leads act like this anyway. I have a audio splitter one that does something similar.

The workaround I'm doing rght now is to run a VGA cable from the back of the TV to the front (my TV is on a desk), that way I can plug my PC or DC cables into that cable without having to get behind the TV (and wearing out the ports, too).

Not an ideal solution, but it works. No quality loss, either.

It does sort of defeat the purpose of having these though. You could just as easily use a small VGA cable for the same thing.

It basically saves reaching round the back the telly though, and only takes 2 seconds.

Yeah, I know, that's what I mean. You could do the same with a smaller single connection VGA cable too. Just one less connector cluttering the place up.

I guess after 3 pages we still haven't found a proper solution to the VGA switchbox problem. Something that doesn't degrade quality, but alows for simultaneous connection of all sources.
