ok, i have updated the thread with another question. I was just wondering what is the difference between 720p and 1080i. i can't seem to notice any difference between the 2, i would have though 1080i wouldn't be as good because i think the i means interlacing, i think. and whenever i think of interlacing, i have a picture in my mind of all those emulator's that have interlacing enabled and full of lines to make it run smoother. i can't see any lines when i have 1080i enabled. sorry, it went on a bit. i just really cant see the difference.

It's VERY unlikely that you have a 1920x1080 screen though, so stick to 720p.

720p is a resolution of 1280x720 progressive, meaning it will display all the horizontal lines at once every refresh. 1080i is a resolution of 1920x1080 interlaced, meaning it will display one half of the horizontal lines every refresh, first even then odd etc.
Which one is better is not so simple, it all depends on the native resolution of your tv and a lot of other factors. Personally I use 720p with my Oppo but I tried 1080i too and it too looked great. So, just try both out and decide which you prefer.

Sane, my tv goes up to 1366x768. So by the sounds of it 720p is the way to go for me.
