anyone tried one of these on a BIG screen? i've no doubt it can improve things on a relatively small screen but once you start showing an upscaled picture on a screen 60"+ i'm sure there'll be some noticeable issues.

failing that, anyone near leeds wanna come round and let me borrow it for a bit?? i'll get in the food/drink

They arent quite HD but yes the Oppo is renowned now for being arguably the best upscaler in terms of bang for buck.

The support from the company is also a huge buying point as well, they have excellent support overall which is rare in this day and age.

I sold my crappy upscaling NeuNeo DVD player (hey I got it cheap on ebay) and got one of these instead... best move I ever made. I use a projector for DVD viewing and the picture difference with this unit is phenomenal... if in doubt and in the market for a DVD player get this. Enough said.

Either way, it's gonna be better than a normal DVD Player.

It's not just the upscaling though, it just has a great picture regardless. Yesterday I was showing off the player to a friend of mine who wanted to see for himself if it was worth buying one to replace his normal player to go with his new bravia screen. So I wanted to show him the difference between a normal and upscaled picture, but what do you know, putting it on 480p still produced an amazing picture. Anyway, he was instantly sold and is going to order one now .
