Rez - PS2 or DC?

Someone told me there were differences between the two versions, but I can't remember what...

Is there any value having one over the other?

Main differences:

DC = Better and more coherent feel to the sound in my opinion.
PS2 = Much better frame-rate.

I prefer the later version.

the ps2 version feels more responsive for me, I think it's the difference in pad quality that does it for me.

and more collectable the ps2 is on a special buy 2 games for ?20 on play.com so if you want to just play it go for the ps2 version if you want your money back once you've finished buy the dc vesion

DC version has improved anti aliasing, mouse support, vga support (blaze ps2 vga adaptor might work though), better pad rumble (DC vib packs give stronger vibration than dual shock pads imho).

PS2 version has improved frame rate, is cheaper, and has trance-vibrator support (nice, but not great, works much better in Space Channel 5 Part 2).

The frame rate issue is highly subjective, while PS2 version tries to maintain a higher frame rate (60 vs 30 on DC according to the developers) for my money it suffers slow down more often as a result.

I prefer the DC version and I have pal/jpn ps2/dc versions of both, but there is very little in it.

Its a bit wonky, you can't select the menus properly, think you have to switch pads, but it can be done.

I have both versions and quite frankly I find the dreamcast pad to work much more smoothly. imo its much harder to connect multiple targets in one smooth motion on the PS2.

dc version much better and will keep value aswell and if you really like the game and intend on keeping than the dc ver is the on to get.

plus its a Sega game on a Sega system

faster? no.
smoother? maybe. the ps2 version runs at 60 fps instead of 30, but suffers more from slowdown as a result.

ps2 version has worse slowdown, DC version it only really affects the bosses and some of level 5 (where its needed basically). ps2 slow down is sprinkled more liberally throughout.

Well, from my recollection of the DC version, the framerate seemed totoally acceptable until I played the PS2 version... Maybe the smooth update of the latter gives an impression of a faster game? Again, I'd suggest that the slowdown doesn't affect the gameplay to any extent in either version.
