    But basically yes, yes, yes (presuming your TV is modern enough to accept proper ntsc signals - if it comes out in black and white, you'll need a new TV).

      Yes to all of the above.

        Sorry forget that last post, I have another concern about the UK power supply, you say that I can use one with the NTSC Wii, but I have come across universal 100V-240V adapters that work with any console. My UK power supply says:

        PRI.: 230V-50Hz 52W
        SEC.: 12V-3.7A

        Is that still acceptable to use with an NTSC Wii without it blowing up or not cause I'm still really confused about this issue and I'm scared about something going wrong.

            Will a uk wii power supply be ok to use on a jpn wii, would save me having two sets of plugs.

              Yes. I've used a US machine with one. What goes 'in' to the power supply differs between regions but what it sends out to the console is the same.

                  I've got a US Wii and was wondering what would happen if I connected it to the internet and ran an update. Would it download a UK PAL update, based on the region I'm in and brick my Wii, or would it automatically download a NTSC update based upon the region the console was purchased from? Thanks in advance.

                    Nope you'll be fine to update it that way. It updates by the region settings of your Wii rather than your IP or anything like that.

                          My Jap Balance Board will work with my USA Wii won't it? Not normally a problem with peripherals is it... 'gulps'

                            Should be fine, UK BB worked on a US Wii for me.

                              The Wii hardware has gone through different revisions since its release. Is the following still true?

                              Q: Will I be able to use an RGB SCART cable bought in Europe on my American Wii?
                              A: No.

                              I gave my US Wii to my bro, who has my old 37" CRT TV, with no component. If, as I suspect, an RGB Scart lead still can't be used on NTSC Wiis, I guess the next best option is an S-Video cable.

                                It might be worth updating this from the 1st page;

                                Q: What sort of stepdown transformer do I need to use an American or Japanese Wii in the UK? How powerful does it need to be?

                                A: The Wii's power block is rated at 58 watts (thanks Shakey_Jake) and it's obviously 110v/60hz. The stepdown with product code SC 5328 from TLC Electrical Distributors will do the job nicely: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SC5328.html

                                to mention that a regional power supply unit can be used, if you'd rather not purchase and power an import Wii through a stepdown transformer. As of writing, a UK Wii power supply unit can be purchased from Nintendo for ?20.45 inc p&p and VAT, which is cheaper than the suggested stepdown transformer option.
