This is probably asked a 1000 times, but I need to ask just to be on the safe side.

Can I use a UK Wii power supply unit on a NTSC WII, without blowing the mains or even worse the Wii itself?

Can I also do this without needing a step-down or an adaptor.

    Help would really be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Yes you can, as long as you are in the uk
I've changed the first post to mention this early on now.

i have a question , sorry if its been asked before , if i got a US NTSC WII could i get a US copy of tatsunoko vs capcom when its released and play it online against americans (obviously if they include online play)

Also is there anyway i can use my US WII on a RGB Scart TV , maybe a modified component / D sub cable like my saurian gamecube one ?

The answer to your first question is yes. I've played Smash Bros online on my US Wii.

You can use a Component->RGB Scart transcoder to 'convert' 480i Component into RGB Scart. However, given the price of a decent Component cable + the transcoder, you might be best just settling with S-Video. The Wii doesn't look brilliant even using Component 480p.

i got quite excited when i saw this

So how was everyone’s weekend? The first one of 09, for me at least, was quite relaxing. Got the chance to hang with Travis who came to town for the holidays, plus some business I guess. Myself and Katie along

but this guy has a tri sync monitor , ill stick to VGA via HD box pro on my 16.9 plasma , shame as i wouldnt mind hooking it up to my 4.3 RGB TV but like you said not worth buying a convertor , to expensive

                  Thanks

Many apologies for a potentially ignorant question but I haven't been following the status on buying stuff on Wiiware between regions.

I am in the UK and have an American Wii with Gecko on.

What's the best way of getting a Wiiware game? Buying American points off Ebay?

Or do they do something like and IP check and block it?

Component if it's got the ports, otherwise RGB.

This used to be the cheapest option, but the last time I looked the prices weren't great. The option requiring least hassle is to change your settings to Brazil and pay for it using a credit or debit card.

There should be instructions in the thread here.

Changing region to Brazil works and it's easy peasy.

Basically - set your system country to Brazil (reason : Brazil matches card details on post code only - not on country, state, etc... and accepts no numeric characters)

Enter your credit card details in the card charge screen, enter you UK post code, TADA!!! there you go! you now have points!!!

Just to confirm, I can safely use a UK Pal PSU on a US Wii? If so, where's the best place to go about getting one - direct from Nintendo?

I assume it's cheaper than a step-down, although I'll go that route if not.

^Yep it will work fine, that's what I do. I bought one directly from Nintendo for £20.
