    No RGB-output progress?

Does anyone know if there has been any progress in determining whether it is possible to modify a US Wii to output RGB? If it was as simple as modifying the video chip (i.e. like the GameCube component mod) I would imagine you would have heard of it by now....

Bit of a schoolboy question this one, I take it I can use any SD card on my (Pal) Wii? And if so anybody know any good sites or ebay sellers?

Couple of questions regarding the JPN Wii

Does anyone have a list of available JPN VC games?
Is all text on the console JPN or is there an option for English?
Has anyone bought any JPN Wii points, where did they get them from and did they work ok?

        Thanks

Has anyone encountered a blank green screen when trying to load up VC game?s through component? Mario 64 works fine but Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Golden Axe and I assume all others don?t work. I poked about with the settings (576i, 480i) and still nothing.

I assume this is part of Nintendo?s strategy to make me download all their games illegally.

Isn't that a problem specific to the PAL Wii?

OK, I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out with my connectivity problem.

I have a PAL Wii. I have Broadband. I have a Wireless Access Point USB dongle-thingie (Datel's Wifi Max to be precise). My Broadband and Wifi Dongle can talk to each other fine (i.e. I am able to set up a working wireless point with good signal strength), and when I fire up the Wii, it is able to detect the wireless access point. The problem comes, however when I attempt to do a connection test, an action that results in an error code of '52030'. In other words, the Wii can see the wireless connection, but -for some reason- cannot connect to the the internet through it.

I've googled a few pages and checked the operations manual, but nothing I've read seems to apply to my particular issue. Does anybody have ANY ideas at all? Surely someone's bound to have experienced connectiion difficulties with their console at first.

Incidentally, it intially picked up my neighbour's WiFi and started downloading updates no questions asked (though I think they got wise and shut their connection down shortly after...), so the problem appears to be between the Wii and my wireless setup.

                    Any ideas???

Firewall(s) on your PC? Norton? I got the same error when trying to use Nintendo's WiFi adapter and have to turned off Kerio to connect properly.
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Hmm... I'm not at all keen on the idea of leaving my PC prone just to get my Wii online, but as a test, I switched off both the Windows and NTL firewalls to no avail (though I did get a different error code: 51330).

Either way, it didn't work. :/

                          Couple of questions:

1: Can I use a standard scart cable from uk on my wii
                          IE this one http://www.game.co.uk/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=&mid=329942

As my wii displays in black and white on my tv (beko, 14" about 8 years old, supports 60hz)
Would a uk cable fix this?

Also would I be able to buy a UK power plug and it would work fine on my Wii?

You can whack the error codes in there and it makes some suggestions. I switched from WEP back to WPA tonight and I had the 51330 problem - turned out to be the length (Or composition) of the key, as I'd used a 63 character length. Shortened it to around 15 and it's fine now. I also changed the channel to 1 (Which is recommended on that code) but I don't know if that would have made any difference.

The fact that you get a different code with the FW disabled though suggests you'll need to do some configuration there.

                            EDIT: The 52030 page.

Yep, just call the number under Technical enquiries on the NoE page.
The psu will cost about ?21 and sent from NOE-HQ (in germany),
so it would take couple of days to arrive.
Not sure if postage is included.

Thing is, I already confgured the WiFi Max software to look outside the firewall anyway so I'm pretty certain it isn't that. I've already seen the page you pointed to as well, but it doesn't apply to me (I'm using a wireless access point as opposed to a router, and my settings are DHCP).

A quick scour of the 'net also shows my situation is by no means unique, either.

                                "Easy", they said. Yeah, right.
