Finally got RGB out of my US wii, oh the crispness! Cost me an arm and a leg to do it though, but what the hell.

    EDIT:

Also is there a maximum data size the Wii will accept for SD cards? I don't want to overshoot on my purchase...

How did you managed that ?
Via convertor, or did you somehow found out a way
to unlock RGB output on a ntsc machine ?

It could only be the converter.

I still want to try and get RGB out of the US machine even although I've personally got no need for it.

          edit:

A component to RGB converter, the price made me cry, but the image on my SDTV made me smile again.

The maximum data size is 2 GB.

Problem solved. Got a proper wireless router and ditched the crappy dongle. Writing this using the free browser I don't even need! And how can you not love the virtual console!?

                    Err help!!!

Set my Wii up this morning using the standard (red/yellow/white) av lead that comes with it, had a colour pic for a min or two and then went fuzzy and colour started to drain. Ended up with a clear, b&w pic. Ok, I thought mayhe the lead is bust. So tried same type of lead with my Q and was fine.

So went out and bought an official scart lead, have come home, plugged it in and I now get a clear but totally red pic...WTF?!?!!?

Any ideas ppl, is the actual connection inside the Wii bust or what...?

All and any help would be much appreciated as I was really looking fwd to sitting down with Zelda. Most depressing/upsetting...

Is your Machine foreign ? As far as I know RGB Scart is only supported by European Wii's. If yours is a European Wii, I don't know what could be wrong. Faulty lead perhaps ?

Oops, yep its a US machine. So the scart lead won't work then...?

Any ideas regards the lead it came with...? All I want to do is play it...

Odd, the Wii apparently does work with 4GB SD cards, as long as they are SD and not SDHC.

I imagine the leads it came with are just faulty and a different composite lead should work alright. Saying that, with my original xbox, one of my tv's wouldnt work with comosite leads and only gave a distorted picture. Leads worked fine with all other tv's and other type of leads would work fine on this tv. Composite would also work for PS2 and Gamecube, just not xbox on one particular tv.

Component lead should work fine if your tv is compatable, S-video also (not UK compatable so probably won't find locally).

                              Cheers for the advice.

Took it round a m8s and it works absolutely fine through the composite on my old tele I sold him. It's older than the Sony I'm trying it on! Anyway was all colour and no problems so it must be my tele being rubbish, very strange.

I'll try it through s-video and hope it works otherwise that 2k Sony lcd is gona be turning up sooner than I thought/wanted...lol!

I've just seen this on ebay, would it allow me to play my us Wii without the need of a stepdown?

Sorry for the noob question but I have no idea about any of this voltage converting stuff.
