I generally don't enjoy racing games. Be it Need For Speed, Colin Mcrea, Grand Turismo or Wipeout, I simply dont find them fun. However there were two exceptions to this rule; Burnout and Mario Kart. I don't know why, but I actually enjoy playing these and buy them as soon as the new version comes out. After only an hour or so of play, Excite truck has become the third exception of this rule. Perhaps it may not last long but when picking a second Wii game to go along with Zelda, I think I made the right choice.

It really has nothing to do with the old Rayman games. It's a mini game compilation with a Rayman model in the cut scenes.

Excite Truck looks addictive as hell. Having to land perfectly each time for maximum boost is gonna be aces.

F-Zero GX had a tilty control system and unlockables as well remember.

As with any racer the true depth comes from the time attack mode IMO as that's where I spend all my time after I've completed the game, unless it has online vs. of course.

            Ban Request!

Rayman 1 was at least enjoyable :P and Rayman 2 (Dreamcast ver) is actually one of the finest platform games ever made imo. Quite funny but my main interest in Rayman on Wii was the fact that I'm actually a fan of the franchise.

F-Zero is miles better than Excite Truck. It's not a bad game, quite competant really, just unoriginal, uninspired, and the audio/visuals are less than impressive. Nintendo should have made Wii F-Zero for launch instead.

I really like Excite Truck; good fun, doesn't take itself too seriously, and I think there's a decent amount of depth to it. I reckon it's one of the most under-stated games at launch anyway...

Monkey Ball on the other hand. Poor. Dunno what it is, but the new fangled control-scheme doesn't work for me.

i always have trouble with the really small bridges getting across and find its really difficult to pick up speed.

Is that kinda what you mean?

Kinda yeah, I dunno, it's not grabbing me like the first one did on the GC a few years ago.

I hate the Story Mode element to it, wished they'd gone back to the core of the game like they did with the first (which is timeless IMO!)

I think it's a mess. The party games are mostly broken, and the main game requires you to tilt your wrist so far forwards to gain any speed it gets painful after a while.

                        Rayman is so much better.
