360 vs PS3

I'm wishing to buy a new console to go along with my Wii (there is bound to be some games that just don't work on Wii)

I'm not sure if I should go for a Xbox 360 or wait for PS3

Im not really into fighting, shooting or racing games which is putting me off the 360.

Any help?

It seems that you're looking for an "oomph" console to go with your wii rather than vice-versa (i.e the wii is the secondary machine).

As such, I can't imagine why you'd want to spend at least ?450 on a secondary machine rather than the ?200-odd it'd cost your for a core 360 ???

Your "not into" quote is interesting because it alienates quite a lot of the PS3 launch line-up as follows (thank me later)

Yeah, that's smartest thing to do. There is no reason to buy console now if you don't find anything interesting to play, especially as you can get console cheaper after waiting for six months.

As people have said you will probably just do better to stick with your Wii though and save around £500.
If you have already been put off 360 I cant see PS3 (at the moment) offering much different from what you seek and it does cost a lot more than a 360 too.
