hehe, i sometimes think of pointing things like that out to people, it's ALL about the presentation, you may have every game ever made but if it's arranged crappily then it's mostly wasted... have to say importaku's little glass cabinet of goodies looks ****ing great, and how it should be done imho.

but yeah, that carpet is baaaaad

Here are some pictures of my gaming and AV set up.

You can just about see all the surround satellite speakers and one of the subs is to the right of the TV stand hidden by Steel Battalion.

nice cabling! bloody hell that's a lot!! i thought my bodge setup was messy but dayyyyyyyyyum! at least you can't see it unless you look for it (which is what it's all about).

also, your 5.1 setup, does it not sound odd the the front channels are coming from up high like that? i know it doesn't make much difference on the rears but i find that if the fronts aren't on the same plane as my head it confuses my brain

Despite how they look I tried laying the cables as tidy and logical as possible, but cables seem to have a mind of their own!

The speakers have always been up high, so I guess I'm used to the sound, and my Sony amp has a setting to specify the position of the speakers to make best use of the sound from that position. I wanted to mount them lower, but my door prevented this option because front left would get battered by it.

I should have listed makes and models of the components:
            • Samsung LCD IDTV LE32R41BD
            • Samsung HDMI DVD player DVD-HD850
            • Sony DVD player DVP-S725D
            • Sony amp STR-DB930
            • Sony Pascal satellite speakers with sub SA-VE705
            • There are two black Yamaha subs too, but I can't remember the model numbers. I have had to disconnect one of them due to a lack plugs

Got my sound system set up yesterday eventually!!!

Built some bitchin' shelves for the rears too which I'm very happy with. CoD2 and the likes are just in a different dimension now when played on a good surround system.

Hopefully, I'll get round to posting pictures of everything tomorrow as I dont think I ever have posted my setup here.
