      To this.

Still need to tidy the cables a little and get a decent camera though!

I noticed Spag and Jimmbob have the same sound unit as me, I've had mine about 6 months and I've recently had a few occasions where the unit has "crashed" and the stopped transmitting the sound through the unit (picture remains). Only way to reset it has been to literally switch it off at the mains!

Either of you had anythink like that? I put it down to it getting hot, I've cleared some space out and given the area a damn good dusting since and no probs...

Not personally, however on the few occasions the sound has dipped on mine it's been because the optical cable (From the back of the 360) has come loose. The connections for those things aren't great.
          Maybe it's something like that?
*edit* Maybe not if it's crashing.

I've noticed that it seems to coincide with the looseness of the optical "port" on the 360. If it's not firmly in and it falls out a few times it seems to happen then. The 360 end of the optical port is EXTREMELY ropey and you can blow the cable and it'd fall out.

That could be it then, I've had that a few times, and always from the 360 end, dodgy connections ftw.

                      My pretty basic setup:

                      20GB increased to 160GB JP PS3 and a PAL PS2 with a 120GB HDD and HD Loader.

Same speakers/amp as me Jim/Jebus. One things thats always confused me is the yamaha amp has to be on like -25 to -35 for good sound. If i go any louder than -25 the house will explode. Is that normal or do I have something setup wrong ? hah

                            Me three.

I solved it by putting a tiny worm of bluetack around the optical cable so it "Glues" into the 360 port.

                            This fixed all my issues.
