He said 'need'. Obviously they are going to look better on a 1080p set, but it's by no means essential, and I think that's his point.

Andy, a JML cable tidy is your friend. Some cool stuff though.

Pictures may not be too good but here's a try:

This is my Panasonic, only problem with it is the lack of component inputs. Recently added a PS3 but the price of a HDMI cable is mindblowing. You can make out the wii, 360 and hd-dvd add on below.

Gamedraw one. Bunch of gamecube games and a handfull of Advance stuff.

Gamedraw two. Wii, 360 and DS games. Starting this unsettling habit of not actually playing the games. Also, a handful of various ds lites.

                An HDMI cable = $20.

yyg - Yeah, that's the Zelda box. Destroyed the larger one it came in though.

Pavey - Really? I'll try looking harder today, only checked out the 2 yank electronics retailers - BestBuy and Circuit City. There asking between $79 - $99!

Also: Moved the tv forward and aligned the speakers so there not angled anymore. Was a bit odd looking. The middle speaker is now on the shelf with the ps3.

Mr J - I'd like this stand for my new place but want (need ) to put a CRT TV on it; not a big one, 24", and weighs about 25kg.

Homebase won't tell me how much weight this unit will hold as it's not designed to be a TV unit! Do't spose they mention anything in the instructions? How heavy's your TV on it?

Just I have a little one and have horrible thoughts about the unit capitualting and the tele falling off......

                    Thanks!

I don't have any of the packaging left unfortunately, I don't remember it saying anything about a weight limit. My TV is about 12kg.

I can't really answer your question for certain, it is a pretty solid unit and would have thought 25kg would be OK but I'd highly recommend trying to get Homebase\Argos to give you a proper specification first.

I made the mistake of paying $85 for one from Best Buy, and have since found out a $20 is just as good. There is no signal loss with digital, it either works or it doesn't.

Thanks PeteJ, it's a lovely unit and I was going to buy the (near perfect) display unit that had another £30 knocked off but don't think I'll risk it as noone from Homebase will give me an answer

Plus, Amazon listed the weight of my TV wrong! It's nearer 40 kilos!

                          Cheers anyway.

The missus said to me, 'well why don't we just get an LCD TV then?'

                          I said no

Yeah, why don't you get an LCD?

7 month old girl + a stack of only SD stuff (sat, cable, no current gen machines) = No LCD no matter how sexy they look

Here is the Left Shelf of WIN! It has some Japanese Games on it and a lego version of me...

And the Right Shelf of Shame...some of them DVDs belong to my girlfriend (Face Off ffs). Goji keeps the balance though.

I love sweetcorn, skinny white trash bitches and sticks!
