the floorstanders? they're not bass heavy as such, they just have an amount i'd expect out of such a size of speaker... other floorstanders from much more 'boutique' companies sound far too tinny and ****e in comparison. i've a set hooked up to a cambridge azur 540 amp and they sound lovely with zero bass/treble tweaking. they're rear ported so if you have them sat next to a wall then they boom but positioned off the wall and possibly with a bit of wadding in the ports they sound less heavy.

personally i love them, but then i've always preferred (expected?) a bit more low end from my floorstanders. that said, surely it's better to have the low end available if you want it and just tweak it out? as i mentioned above there's much more expensive speakers which don't kick out the amount of power that these do... ?150 is a top price if you have the room and don't mind how they look (i've the woofers covered up with material tacked onto them as my ferrets nibbled them look less intrusive now but still sound pretty damn good!)

**edit: a piccy from earlier in the year when i acquired the kit... just covered with some midweight cloth which is tacked to the back of them.

what are your thoughts on the speakers? i've a set and i love them, they sound pretty ****ing big considering they cost me ?150... big chunky sounds, perfect for games/films/great big dance tracks.
They're great. The speakers I had before were Mission floorstanders and they had a nice bass sound as well. My only critiscms would be that they can occasionally be too bassy and they don't have a cover. My amp doesn't have any kind of graphic equalizer so I just have to turn down the volume. This could be because they're close to the wall, but there's about a 1 foot space behind them (surely that should be enough)? Can't fault the amp though, it's clear as day. It should be, it cost ?650 when I bought it... about ten years ago!

Meant to say; Crisp_Rapper that's a pretty sweet setup you've got there. How do games look on a projection screen?

When I get my 360, that white case will just have to go.

Now this explains why I could never find any European info for my TV. Cheers.

I just joined the forums within the last two weeks, and there so many great set-ups on show in this thread. Good work guys.

                          Geezer - 2 XBox360's !!! Nice, I've yet to get one!

                          Here's my current assortment.

Japanese Saturn & Dreamcast with unmodded Pal XBox underneath. Two RGB Scart switch boxes behind lead into the quintro box below.

The Quintro box handles the incomming RGB signals from the switch boxes, the XBox, DVD and Freeview box.

Japanese Midnight blue PS2 and Spice Gamecube switch mod Japanese/American.

Playstation with modchip and my PC Engine briefcase both live under the TV.

My rear projection TV is getting on but still does a very good job. Scene from the opening credits of Super Dimension Fortress: Macross on PS2.

The gamescase is now overcrowded to bursting point there are up to three layers of games stacked in it. The main display is this.

Layer 2 and some items that just don't fit on there anymore.

As for the third layer I didn't take any pictures as it's just some old XBox and Gamecube titles that aren't really worth mentioning.

Well that's about it. I'll be looking forward to expanding it some more in due course.

Some people will go to any lengths to make sure their 360 doesn't overheat

One's PAL, one is JPN. The PAL one is from launch day last year, I bought the JPN one last week for current and future JPN exclusives and cheap asian games. I'd get rid of the PAL one if it wasn't for Pro Evo 6 (highly unlikely to be region free) and because I want Gears of War asap, the asian version probably won't make it out until December.
