This is perhaps a silly question, but does it stretch the image uniformly? My TV's service menu is gibberish and I've managed to stretch the image but not uniformly, the top is stretched more than the bottom. It makes for some funky character movement in my shooters

Keep reading about these hidden menus!! Does anybody know the codes to find them on a European Bravia KDL-32V2500? I've had a look around and found different codes but none of them seem to work.

Hmm can't say I've noticed any bias towards any side, seems quite uniformly stretched. It's basically the same kinda setup as the geometry options on a CRT pc monitor, only with a little guesswork.

            and BOOM! howzat...

also.. one thing i'll say is this tv doesn't do Svideo unforetunately. So it's fine for consoles but not so much if you're planning on tvouting from a pc. Have to force composite video if your card can do that.
Are you sure that phillips wn't do s-video? My slighter older Phillips did. I used a s-video to scart adaptor on the second scart socket

yeah I've got 2 other older philips, my old CRT i donated to my parents, then realised i missed it. The old one did svideo on the rear scart, you selected av2S or summat. This one only has one lonely scart and side phonos. I tried the switchable scart adapter but still no luck.

Quick snap of my setup now after having sold my LCD

(took it right after boxing it up, hadn't tidied yet)

Already having doubts about whether it was the right thing to do or not, but hopefully the 8G Pioneer Plasmas will be worth it. September seems so long away now though.

Pretty happy with the new Viewsonic monitor though - I measured around 14,000:1 on/off contrast pre-calibration with my DTP-94, and around 10,000:1 after bringing the brightness down to 100cd/m2. Still can't beat a CRT for black levels, but the Toshiba LCD did better with shadow details, and I was surprised at how little difference there was between the "native" 720p display on the CRT vs the scaled one on the Toshiba - the picture was virtually identical, black levels aside.
