But the Thermaltake cases are sleek and stylish, and I've got the fairground ride on top! 8)

Granted I could do with tidying up some cables a bit though

    Edit: Aha! That's better

Hmm, how embarassing, you can just about make out the Muppets from Space DVD in my collection

My gaming collection isnt out on display..I tend to file things in those fancy cardboard boxes from Ikea and only tend to have one console out at a time. So essentially my collection consists of a Xbox sitting in a tv unit thingy...impressive :-(

Ive been reading with interest posts on another forum talking about this thread, and describing large collections as being "sad", "obsessive" and remarking that people with large collections are clearly individuals with no life. Its strange to see this attitude towards other fellow gamers, and to me it smacks of jealousy and their own insecurity. There will always be someone with a bigger collection that you, it matters not one jot. What matters is that YOU get enjoyment out of the games and setup YOU own no matter how large or small your collection may be.

I can appreciate all kinds of setups in this thread, and judging by this thread it seems others do too. Not once on this forum has anyone said that anyone else is sad for having a large/nice collection, and I guess therein lies the difference between forums like ours and other places

            Keep them coming.

I saw some similar comments on several other boards, too. I agree 100% with what you're saying.

I saw your photos and thought 'that's brilliant. I'd love to have a setup like that'. I certainly didn't think 'what a sad bastard. I bet he spends every penny he earns on games and DVDs' I've been impressed with every one I've seen and I've never once thought to myself 'that one is crap' or 'is that all?'

Likewise, I doubt anyone on here has thought 'my setup sucks. There's no point in taking pics' And if they have done, then they shouldn't have IMO.

Threads like this aren't a competition. The sooner that more people realise this, the better IMO

If sopmeone is well into something and spends time to create a setup they are proud of they get nothing but respect from me.

I dont have much of a setup (my place is more like a workshop now >_&lt

I spend some time on the other place too, and TBH its jealousy it has to be, the majority over there are fine. Always a minority init. Thats the only reason I can see for the "sad" statements anyway. FFS they are on a t'interweb forum about videogames aint they??

This type of reaction confuses me TBH? I too wish I could afford some of the stuff you guys have but I dont lose any sleep over it.

I'll just have to do with my collection which I cannot post due to no digi cam.

                  JVC Interiart 28" widescreen
                  JVC VN33 DVD multi region
                  Xbrick
Gamecube no PSU at moment gotta wait for Nintendo to deem me worthy of a replacement).
                  GBA SP
5:1 Scan AV6 which is entry level TBH but a THX one will be mine oneday.
games the expected titles for all formats about 35.

It breaks my heart though when I think about what I've gotten rid off due to cash constraints. Still it would mean a extension if I had kept them.

And I got a lovely collection building now to hand over to my son and heir.

Collections take time to build, its not done overnight. It took me years of working in mundane low-paid jobs before I finally landed a job which gave me a reasonable expendable income which I used to purchase my plasma screen, whilst it also finances my growing collecion of videogames. I worked hard for these things and am pleased with what I have. However, I was also pleased when I had a ZX Spectrum linked to a 14" TV, with a games collection made up of mainly cheap ?1.99 - ?2.99 budget games, or my Sega Master System console and 4 games because I was unable to purchase games on a whim. Or a Amiga with busted joysticks that I used to have massive Sensible Soccer nights with my freinds. I may have changed, as has my income, yet the same basic enjoyment I had back when I owned the Spectrum and 14" TV is here now, and its this which matters the most. Its no good owning the worlds biggest TV and most state of the art sound system for example if you dont get enjoyment from it. If people are jealous of setups like mine, or Shou's for example (it seems we have been targetted somewhat) then its entirely their problem and not mine. Im far too busy enjoying it to care

I'm sure I've already posted details of my setup. There's nothing particularly impressive in there (4 consoles, all PAL; DVD; Pro Logic 2 amp, 28" TV)

I will still take pictures of it though, but I need access to a digital camera ft: I'm proud of my room because of how much effort I've taken in laying it out and designing where things should go. I'm slowly replacing shelving units so that my room follows a colour pattern (atm it's a mixture of beach oak and black - I want everything to be oak colour) Once that's been done I'll take some pictures.

I've noticed that it's generally AV forums that have an elitist view of newbies or people with less-expensive setups. Gaming forums generally accept people for liking games; AV forums generally accept people for spending loads of money I found that out the hard way

It does indeed look the business. I got it from Kron and it hadn't even had the sticky plastic top coat removed.

Expect my pics from Wednesday evening.
