Well the old adage is true if they aren't broke & you like the sound then there really is no need to upgrade is there??

Funny enough I found my old speakers in the parents loft when they were clearing out.
I have some old Mission 731 Bookshelf speakers & I had been thinking about building a much cheaper surround setup with those as the rears recently rather then see them go to waste as they really aren't worth trying to sell.

I got my Onkyo Tx-SR706 a good while ago now around the same time Charlesr got his and have to say its been immense, never let me down still sounds awesome now paired with my Kef 3005's . Love Kef floorstanders as well got some IQ5's paired with my Roksan Kandy amp.

I'm ****ing sick of piano black stuff, dust it once and it's covered in hairline scratches, no matter how careful you are. Silver will be back, you'll see, YOU'LL ALL SEE!

Hehe. I agree black does show the dust like nobody's business but scratches? What are you dusting with dude?? Unless of course the item has the sort of finish the 3DS/DS/Wii has which is just stupid and thankfully not what amps tend to be made of.

I never liked silver, especially on a CRT as it just made them look even bigger! The only thing I liked that was silver was my silm PS2, and thats the reason I imported a silver DS3 for my PS3 as soon as they came out in Japan, to remind me of it

Well, as far as those Onkyo's are concerned, looking at the black and silver variants, the silver is just much nicer looking IMO. Different strokes for different folks though.

My set up will be completely changing thanks to the arrival of Jamie's HD projector from the sales section. Shame the 120" screen I bought didn't turn up today.



Hopefully i'll have the entire new set up in place in the next few days, the sound upgrade is all set to be collected tomorrow.

Eee a projector and a 63" tv greedy bugger
