I had a problem yesterday with delivery of a wii bundle from shopto. The problem however was caused by parceline not bothering their arse and marking the delivery as unable to deliver-card left when in truth they never even came to my door.

Shopto responded to my emails within an hour and told me they were having problems with parceline and had numerous complaints.I eventually collected the package from parceline myself.

So in my experience shopto give tremendous service. The wii bundle was ordered Tuesday lunchtime and was dispatched four hours later for next day delivery.

Personally speaking, I would never again buy from ShopTo.

Their after sales service and condescending attitude is appalling. The manner of the emails they send when they do reply is reprehensible.

I had an issue whereby I had to return an item. They flagrantly disregarded the distance selling regulations and I had to get Trading Standards involved to resolve the problem.

Ive used em loads, spent thousands with em this year after finding em (used Gameplay for 10yrs before that) not had any problems apart from the LE Halo issue which they listened to us all and altered preorders. I think Ive only had 2 or 3 games not arrive next day all way up north.

Id just ring em Kubrick the email service can be prone to not getting thru with spamming block either end as Ive had it with other companies (Movietyme swear blind I never contact em when I get problems and NCSX I never get their replys with one email address). Id also just pop a message on their forum and Im sure you will get sorted.

Cheers. I work nights and sleep during office hours so don't want to be dealing with phone calls tbh, but I've just noticed there's a "lost parcel" form thing on the site, so I've filled that out. I'll see what happens.

I started off using them and everything went fine until they decided to send me Smackdown instead of Fear last year. When I phoned I was told I did order the game even though in my order history it stated they ahd sent me Fear and when I eventually did tell them to look at my order record they said to send it back.

I ended up selling it on here for a small loss rather than the hassle of paying and then trying to reclaim the postage.

They do get games to customers very quickly and their prices are great but their biggest crime is selling games that have 'Not for sale in the UK' on them. I very rarely trade games in but this to me is wrong. I just really do not like having the option if I buy a game and there is a good trade in on it.

I know that every retailer (web retailers especially) have horror stories and for every moaner like me two people who have had great service will post, but for me I don't like the way they do business.

I've had issues with Shop To that I can't really talk about without leaving myself open to a libel case- suffice to say, be warned. They're gaining a good reputation and I can't deny that but there are some hair-raising stories in their past...

Interestingly, my bank put an immediate lock on my card after my shopto transaction. Make of that what you will. Big arguement to get it unlocked as well.

I honestly have never heard of Shopto until this thread.

Some prices are so cheap, I wonder how they can actually make a profit. I always thought amazon were pushing it in terms of profitability.

The DS seems to be suffering from price-fixing I reckon, even these guys can't get it cheaper than £99. It's only about £60 in the US.

I notice they blaming Royal Mail for the delivery woes. I can sympathise. In my work we've give up using recored delivery as it sames to take longer to get there than using normal 1st class delivery (up to 2 weeks some-times which is a disgrace).

And how often does 1st class go missing anyhow? If there is a frequency/%, how does it compare to recorded delivery?

Adverts for shopto were removed since their PR firm hasn't answered our emails for ages. I think emails to shopto are drawing a blank too. So were are a bit in the dark. Note, this has nothing to do with the service shopto provides - everything I've ordered has always arrived very quickly.

Recorded delivery travels with all the other 1st and 2nd class mail through the regular system so there shouldn't be any difference in the time of arrival between recorded and other mail. Only Special Delivery is processed differently. Recorded delivery doesn't offer you any additional protection over just posting regular 1st class either so it's basically a waste of money for sending games etc - it's actually designed to give timed and dated proof of delivery for things like summonses, documents etc.

this thread concerned me a little, I've spent a fortune with them recently and never found them anything less than brilliant, but then never had to contact them over anything.

I've always got through straight away on the phone to them if I've had a problem and they have been nothing but first class for me sorting it out there and then.

Just used them for the first time yesterday and can't say I've been overly impressed. The site is horrendous, I had to use 2 different browsers to create an account and navigate the site and even then it seemed to have difficulties with recognising being logged in, constantly telling me to sign in when I tried to order. Then when I finally get the damn thing in the basket it wouldn't accept my card details, but when it finally ok'd them, it was doing some ?1 charge thing instead of actually letting me pay for the game.

After spending about 15-20 minutes ordering a single game, I thought it would be worth the hassle for it to arrive the next day, but unsurpisingly, despite all the "shop late, play tomorrow", "24hr delivery" and "order before 5:30pm for next day delivery" images on the site, today my order still reads 'processing'.
