But can you tell the difference on an sd tv?

And the deciding factor has to be those horrible black borders on the pal boxes.

    NTSC FTW!

"Clutching at straws" springs to mind.

Can we put this to rest now?

Hmm, my RGB'd NTSC console seems to be flickering, a part of me wants it sorting out but the majority of me doesn't see the point after Wednesday...

I'll get back to it after some thought.

Before I do this though, I want to be sure... I have heard of cases of white flicker and dark colours. I would rather a smudgier, smooth appearance and non RGB than an RGB picture with these imperfections.

So to those who have done or seen it - or just know about it, can I ask about any side effects? As I don't fancy paying out for another model only to be dissatisfied with the results? If they are shoddy, what about these German guys that do it for 75 Euros on any PAL board? Are they any better at all?

Oh: also, if I go ahead and do it, is any specific wire needed?

        Thanks all!!!
If done properly there'll be no white flickering, darkening, or other such imperfections. It will simply look cleaner and crisper. If you're uneasy about doing it yourself there's a guy called 'Saurian' who RGB-modded my SNES and a bloody good job he did too. He doesn't post here any more but I'm sure somebody around here could tell you how to get in touch with him.
