PSP Go has now become the best thing ever.

I've got all the important games back up and running on it now, namely Lumines, Parodius & Outrun 2. Truth be told they were all I ever needed but I've also installed Parappa & Gitaroo Man from my small stack of UMDs.

Had a quick shot of each just to check my saves were OK and the Go d-pad proved a huge improvement for Parodius. I always thought it would be but lacked any games decent enough to find out :/

All I need to rip now is the two Metal Gear Ac!d games and I will have my entire collection available at any time! Sweeeeeeeet.

Maybe now I should read this entire thread and see what the score is with emulators.

Yeah it's so good having my fav games stacked up on the Go I bought a second one last week from GS. I am going to use that one for emulators.
I dropped Picodrive on it with a load of MD games and it runs them great.
I now think I will get one of the cradles to use the Go with a PS3 pad on TV

Mine is upgraded to 6.37 so I need to wait til that can be hacked I guess :-(

I want to put on mine:

        Metal gear Ac!d
        Peace Walker
        Valkyria 2
        FFVII and VIII
        GT
        Resistance
        Everybody's Golf
        Warhammer 40k
        MHFU

I've bought all of those but only Ac!d, Peace Walker, GT and Valkria are on UMD so I guess I need to basically download ISOs of them all from usenet? Would that work? Even for the FF (PS1) games?

For PS1 games download specific versions that have already been packed into EBOOTS for play on the PSP. You can download the ISOs and convert them yourself but there's not really much point since FFVII and FFVIII will probably be two of the easiest games to find anyway.

Cheers. I wonder if this thread belongs in the console section really.

This really should be a sticky in the console tech section, as I all ways have to search for this thread.

                  Sweet. I have a 2000 but it's Japanese and I think it's a bit weird.

just got myself a pspgo and was really happy buying a bunch of square classics until I found out that war of lions isn't on psn!!!

can't believe going legit could be such a hassle, guess I'll have too wait for cf to play it on my go.

What firmware are new PSP Go's packaged with these days? If it's 6.35 I'm tempted to get another one, it's the perfect handheld machine once you've fixed it's limitations via cfw. Not sure how quickly they update the firmwares on machines going out to shops.

I've been using the PS3 controller bluetooth connection a lot since getting Parodius Portable back in a playable format. A great touch that I never had to make use of before (due to lack of games).

Well if you have a 5.xx then you can already cfw it very easily - you'll just need official 6.35 installed and the xmb bootable cfw files (6.35 pro version B is what I'm running I believe)

So, is 6.35 the firmware to look for if you want to homebrew-enable it? If I went to the store now and bought one brand new, is it likely to have a homebrew-able firmware?

If you buy it in Hong Kong, apparently - don't know about elsewhere, but your chances aren't getting any better with time!

There appears to be a version of the 'HEN' Homebrew enabler for 6.36 firmware these days, if people are unlucky enough to find their PSP has that version. No proper downgrader for it yet, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

No idea if any of this us useful for the Go, though.
