Is that via auto update too?

It doesn't take long to connect? takes me about half a minute to a minute to connect to it..

The initial connection takes a while, but no more than ten to fifteen seconds I'd say and navigation of the PS3 XMB is fine for me.

The 1.50 kernal has been a separate update for the last two m33 versions (3.71 and 3.80)

It makes sense, 1.50 is not compatible with the Slim, therefore they release a single CFW for both psp versions, and a 1.50 add-on for the original only

3.80 M33-3 is out now on Dark_Alex's site and Network Update. The new version of the popsloader plugin for 3.80 (requires M33-3, so update first) is also on the site.

I can't get over how good this new update feature is. It just works as seamlessly as the real thing. If it works when updating the actual firmware version (e.g. going to 3.90 M33 or whatever comes next) I'll be blown away.

We're getting updates every day now!!

                  It is impressive though...
You switch the PSP on, select Network Update, press X when your online, the PSP updates, resets itself & the whole process is done in around 10 seconds.

Am I the only person who checks the System Info in System Settings straight away due to a horrible fear of the official firmware installing itself somehow?

The risk of that is quite slim, given that it downloads less than a megabyte of data and the official updates are over 20MB now

Right, I've found out that I can update to the latest version firmware from my current version, but now I have 2 questions:

                            1. The readme for the firmware version tells me I need a copy of the official Sony 3.80 firmware - I've downloaded that from the Sony website and it's file is named EBOOT.PBP - do I need to rename that file 380.PBP?

                            2. The 3rd step of the readme simply says "run it" but what is it that I need to run. The renamed official file or the file for the custom firmware?

Edit: sussed that, problem now is that I need to update from 3.52 M33 to 3.52 M33-3. The readme file for the M33-3 update doesn't have install instructions, where am I meant to stick the files?

                            Edit again: sorted

                              1. Yes
                              2. Go to Game -> Memory Stick, the installer should be there.

                              EDIT

                              3. PSP\GAME\UPDATE

Now I've gone and got myself another problem :arg: Just updated to M33-3 and when I run 3.80 M33 it tells me I'm not using M33-3 or higher

Sorry if this is confusing to read, it certainly looks it to me.
