I'm after a BIG favour too...does anybody have a Pandora's Battery that they would be willing to borrow me for a couple of days so I can do it?

I'm happy to pay for the the favour!
I've done it mate, playing on FF8 on my PSP right now

I don't have a battery though, i used my friend's and he was reluctant to let me in the first place, lol.

If you need anything else though just send me a PM.

      Thanks...

I understand, I'd be the same to be honest. I've seen them for sale on eBay for about ?25 so if I can't borrow one I'll have to do that I suppose.

Or I could just buy one of the batteries and see if I can find somebody with an old PSP who would let me to do it...

Could someone point out to me what this pandora battery is and how I obtain one? I've been thinking of trading in my original model for a slim at GAME but would like to keep the option of downgrading available.

Also Evo-one, was your PSP fully boxed and complete with extras when you traded it in? Mine's a value pack but I can't find the headphones or demo UMD.

Can anyone give me a hand with updating my PSP's custom firmware? I'm currently at 3.10oe and want to update to 3.40oe. Have downloaded the firmware update (which consists of files 340oeflasher, 340oeflasher%, oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker%) from PSPupdates - only problem however is that the readme is in spanish and babelfish doesn't do a decent enough job of translating it. Do I simply move each file to the PSP/GAMES folder and the run via the memory stick? The readme seems a little more indepth than that.

          Cheers.

Does this help at all? If not try here instead.

It's a long time since I did mine but can't remember it being too tricky.

              3.40 Open Edition REvision A

              Installation instructions:

              - Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are in any SE/OE version. Get the 1.50 and 3.40 Sony updaters (of any region, because all are currently the same), and copy them in the oeupdmaker directory with the names 150.PBP and 340.PBP.

Execute the program, and it will generate the DATA.DXAR file. The checksums (althoug the flasher will check for them for you):

              - Copy 340oeflasher and 340oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are in any SE/OE version. Move the DATA.DXAR to 340oeflasher directory.

You need 75% battery, although you can skip this if you pressed L+triangle while loading the program.

Coming tomorrow. The most interesting part:
Dark_AleX has made it so that this new firmware would update the same exact way that Sony's official firmwares do, via WiFi. That means that it's going be a hassle-free, no-messy-installation-needed update (of course, you have to access Network Update for it), and certainly a very welcome addition to the host of features the custom firmware brings.
Should make things nice and easy in future, not that any of the more recent stuff has been particularly difficult.

Fantastic, I've been waiting for the latest update as there are still some issues with remote play with the older firmware.

Really? I've not had any issues with mine (Other than limitation of the feature itself).

Awesome. Hopefully I'll be able to go straight from 3.30 OE-A to this one.

Can't be arsed with the whole upgrading to upgrade to the latest one.

Shame the wifi on my psp doesn't work any more

I'm even thinking about picking up a new slim&lite due to the little niggles that are starting to turn up.

                            Wow, that sounds brill.

Just upgraded from 3.52 M33 to 3.71 M33-4 and it was a real faff. After figuring out how to do the upgrade I then need to add a seperate 1.50 update and 3 further 3.71 M33 updates.....took flippin' ages!!!
